Chapter 45: New Experiences
Hey all! Thanks for reading this far! I just want to take this time to thank my friend Ellie, for whom the character is named, for helping with this chapter. I was in a writers block once again and Ellie helped me out by writing about half of this chapter!!!
All eyes were on Zac and Ellie. Ellie could feel her face heating up. She looked pleadingly to August. August nodded and cleared her throat.
"Hey everybody, I'm starting to get hungry, how about we order a pizza!"
Eyes left Ellie and Zac and focused on August. Relieved, Ellie tapped Zac on the head. He slowly looked up, an embarrassed look on his face.
"I...I'm really sorry about that El, I didn't mean for that to happen!" he whispered.
"Zac, I know you didn't mean for that to happen, but it did, so......what now?" she asked.
Zac shrugged. He took a deep breath and looked to his older brothers. Each was in deep conversation with someone else. He glanced back and forth and settled on Taylor.
"I wanna play the game Tay!"
Taylor turned from his conversation with August about what kind of pizza to order. He looked quizzically towards Isaac and then to Zac.
"Zac I don't know if you should do this." Taylor smiled.
"And why not? I'm 13! I can handle it! All you do is kiss!" Zac looked at Ellie who had by now moved away from him to get out of the eyes.
"Zac it could turn into more than that just wait until' your 14." Isaac sighed and looked at Leigh. He really wanted to be closer to her. Zac looked at Ellie. She had her knees to her chest and her head on her knees looking at Zac. He smiled at her.
"Fine. I'll wait."
"Thank you Zaccy-Poohs." Isaac laughed followed by everyone else. Zac went over and whispered into Ellie's ear.
"We'll wait until' everyone's gone then go in that closet and see what happens okay?"
She nodded showing she heard. August noticed Ellie's face.
"Hey El come here." She walked out and Ellie followed. "You okay?"
"August I really like him but I don't think he likes me."
"Umm...honey...if he didn't like you he wouldn't be TRYING to play this game with you."
"I don't know. I mean, I don't think he'll like me if we kissed." Ellie sighed and looked away from August's gaze.
"Why not?"
"I've never kissed a guy before." August grinned at the new information.
"Never??"
"Nu-uh. I've always been to scared."
"Well I'm sure he wont care. Want me to go convince Tay to let you guys do the game?"
"YES!" Ellie laughed along with August.
"Alright."
She walked back in and sat by Taylor who immediately put his arms around her.
"Tay you should let Ellie and Zac play the game."
"Why? They're only 13."
"So? Come on the most they'll do is kiss they'll be to scared to do anything else."
"Fine."
He turned to look at Zac who was watching Ellie sit beside him.
"Zac you want to play the game?"
"Yeah?"
"Get in that closet. I'll time."
"Thanks Tay! I owe you."
"Yes, yes, I know."
Zac rolled his eyes and shook his head. He looked to Ellie. She was biting her lip. He walked over and squatted next to her.
"You wanna play? I mean, we don't have to if you don't want to...." he trailed off.
Ellie shook her head.
"No. I'll play." she whispered.
Zac's face lit up and he grinned. He offered his hand to her, she took it, and pulled her to her feet. He led her into the closet and shut the door. He heard Taylor yell go from beyond the door. Zac cleared his throat and looked at Ellie. She was staring at the floor. He reached over and took her hand. She looked up.
"Whats wrong?" he whispered.
She shook her head.
"Nothing."
"El, if something's wrong, you can tell me, ok?" he asked, trying to catch her eye.
She nodded.
"So are you going to tell me?" he grinned slightly.
Ellie giggled softly. She sighed and looked at Zac.
"Well....I...I." she took a deep breath. "I've never kissed a guy before Zac." she whispered.
Zac leaned in to hear her. He nodded. He put his finger under her chin and raised it.
"I haven't either El. Kissed a girl I mean." he chuckled.
Ellie looked into his eyes.
"Really?"
"Yea, really. So we're in the same boat here."
"Yea, I...I guess so." she stuttered.
Zac smiled.
"So....shall we begin?"
Ellie giggled and nodded. Zac carefully placed his hands around her waist, she, in turn, put her arm around his neck. Slowly, they leaned in. Their lips met and electricity ran through both. All of the sudden, a pound came on the door. They slowly pulled away, smiling to themselves. The door opened and all eyes were on them. Zac grabbed Ellie's hand and they walked out of the closet. August caught Ellie's eye and gave her a look, asking "well?". Ellie smiled and nodded. August would hear about this later. As Zac and Ellie made their way across the room, the doorbell rang. Lindsay jumped up.
"Girls!" she exclaimed.
4 heads turned. Lindsay motioned for them to follow her, and the three pried themselves away from their new interests. They followed her up the stairs and sat in the kitchen while Lindsay answered the door. Lindsay entered the kitchen a few minutes later with a stack of pizzas. She walked quickly down to the basement and reappeared. She sat down next to Leigh.
"So, Ell, details, eh?"
Ellie giggled and blushed.
She sighed.
"You guys....."
"What?" the four other girls replied.
Ellie grinned.
"I really really really like Zac. Oh my gosh. I wasn't sure that I did, but I'm sure now!"
She sighed and grinned. Leigh, Amy, Lindsay and August smiled and exchanged glances.
"So, is it official, are we all ‘hooked up'?" laughed August.
Leigh nodded, Lindsay nodded, Amy nodded, and Ellie shook her head. August looked at her, confused.
"What do you mean Ellie, I thought he asked you out, or thats the impression I was under!"
Ellie shook her head again. Her expression changed.
"I wish he would though." she sighed.
"He will Ell, trust me." exclaimed Leigh.
Lindsay and August nodded in agreement.
"I hope you're right...." Ellie sighed.
As she finished her sigh, a pounding came on the stairs. The girls turned towards the door, only to see Zac standing there, holding the railing.
