August just sat there, watching the brothers fight. It was quite funny actually. Every once in awhile, Zac would say something, and Tay would smack him upside the head. She tried as hard as she possibly could not to laugh, but it got the better of her and she burst out laughing.
"Whats so funny?" asked Zac, rubbing his head from the most recent smack from Taylor
"Nothing" replied August, trying to hide a smile.
"Oh yea?" asked Tay, an amused look on his face
"Yea" she smiled at him.
Isaac and Zac exchanged another glance and burst out laughing.
"What?" asked Tay and August at the same time.
This just sent Isaac and Zac into another fit of laughter. By the time they pulled into the driveway, tears were rolling down Zac's cheeks and he was doubled over with laughter. Isaac was almost to the same point.
"Oh boy, this is gonna be interesting" said Isaac, wiping the tears that had begun. He grinned at Zac and started laughing.
August had a confused expression on her face. Taylor noticed this and answered her thought.
"I don't understand them either."
She nodded and grabbed her backpack. Taylor opened the door and held out his hand. She took it and jumped out of the car. Taylor blushed heavily when she took his hand. He smiled. She looked up at the house. It was a beautiful brown brick house, two stories. She noticed the basketball hoop in the drive way and various sports equipment and toys strewn over the yard. She walked to the back of the van and took out her suitcase. She took a deep breath and followed Taylor into the house. What was inside amazed her even more. In front of her was a huge family room, with a grey couch in the middle and a TV in front of that. On her left was the kitchen. It was huge! It had cabinets everywhere and a big table in the middle. It was beautiful. In the middle of the table was a vase of freshly picked flowers. August guessed that they were hand picked, because she could see a flower garden through the back door. Also, there was a little bit of dirt on the table. She smiled to herself and turned to Diana, who had just entered the house. Diana smiled.
"Tay, could you please show August to her room?"
Taylor blushed and motioned her to follow him. His thoughts were racing. He really liked August. She was pretty, she loved their music, and she could handle his brothers' teasing an annoyances. They walked through the house and down the stairs to the guestroom. It was a rather large room, and it looked as though it had been remodeled.
"Your mom told my mom what you liked, so we made the room like she said." Taylor said quietly.
"Thanks! That's really cool." she replied, smiling at him. He smiled back, but his face turned red all over again.
"Man, he's really shy!" she thought. "He wasn't this shy at the airport.."
"So...Tay...what do you want to do?" she asked
"Well, we could play video games, watch TV, play around with the instruments, whatever you want to do."
"Could I mess around with the instruments?" her face lit up
"Sure, come on!" he turned around and started up the stairs.
August set her bags on the bed and followed him up the stairs. She watched him all the way up. She loved how his blonde hair blew when he walked. And she loved his eyes, they were so bright, and she could tell when he was excited. She felt like she could tell him anything. He was, after all, her best friend.
"Ok," Taylor said, once they had reached the garage "which do you want to use?"
He pointed to the keyboards, the guitar, and the drums. He looked over at her.
"She's beautiful" he thought. He glanced out the window.
"Whatcha lookin at Tay?" August asked, joining him at the window.
"Ike and Zac are still in the van laughing their heads off." His cheeks reddened as he said this.
"Don't worry about them Tay, don't let them get to you, ok?" she asked, a concerned look on her face.
Taylor bit his lip and nodded. August, satisfied with his nod, walked over to the drums and sat down. She pulled a set of sticks from the holder and said:
"Lets jam" a small smile crept on Taylor's face. He walked over to the keyboards and sat on a stool that had been situated behind them.
"Do you know how to play?" he asked
"Yea, well kinda. I can keep a beat"
August started hitting the drums, laughing. She was messing around, doing rolls and smacking the sticks together. Eventually, she started laughing so hard that she fell backwards off of the drummer seat. Once she hit the floor, she fell backwards onto her back and laughed even harder. Taylor got up off his stool and kneeled down to help her up. He smiled when he saw that she was happy. She looked like she was having the time of her life. He gazed at her blonde hair, which was to about her shoulders. He watched how it bounced up and down when she laughed. He noticed her eyes when she looked up at him. They were a bright blue color with specks of grey inside. It was cool.
"Tay, what are you looking at?" she asked, still laughing.
"A lunatic" he replied with a smirk.
"Hey! I take offense to that! You're dead!" she laughed and got up quickly and started chasing Taylor.
"AAAAHHH!!! Help help! I'm being chased by a looney person!!" he laughed as he sprinted out of the garage and into the house. He ran up the stairs and into the room he shared with his brothers. He collapsed onto his bed, trying to catch his breath.
"Jeez, you're pretty fast for a twig!" exclaimed August once she caught up to him. She sat down on the bed next to him and sighed.
"A twig, eh?"
"Yep, you heard me" a smile appeared on her face.
"Alright, now you're gonna get it!!" He started to get up.
August noticed this and laughed. She jumped up and sprinted out of the room, trying to get away from Taylor. She ran down the stairs and into the family room. She was about to run behind the couch when she felt a strong set of arms grab her by the waist. She glanced back to see that Taylor had caught up to her and gotten her from behind. He started tickling her.
"No!!
"Ah, now who's calling the other a twig?"
August walked over and laid down on the couch.
"I'm tired!" she whined
"That's cuz I am the almighty Taylor!"
"Don't let your head get too big now Tay"
Tay made a puppy face and pretended to pout.
"No fair! You can't do that!" August cracked up again.
Taylor started laughing too. Neither noticed Isaac and Zac standing in the doorway. They had seen the whole thing.
"My my Tay, a little obvious are we? Moving a little quickly there now!" grinned Zac, dashing off to find his mother for protection. Tay ran off after him.
"Hey Ike?"
"Yea?"
"Would your mom mind if I went rollerblading around?"
"Probably not. Tay might though, if you went alone" he grinned.
"What are you talking about Ike? Why would it bother him?"
"What? Don't tell me that you don't notice!"
"Notice what?"
"Tay likes you"
"Does not"
"Does to"
"Does not!"
"Does to!"
"How do you figure?"
"He stares at you, and, from what I saw, he was chasing you."
"That's cuz I was chasing him before and then I said something to make him chase me. We were having fun Ike"
"Yea, it looked like he was having fun when he caught you and tickled you."
August punched him in the shoulder and smiled.
"Whatever. I'm going to blade down to that park we passed on the way here and hang out for awhile. Alright?"
"Yea, sure."
August ran down the stairs to her room and got her roller blades out of her suitcase. She ran back up the stairs to where Isaac was standing.
"I'll be back later. Bye!"
"Later"
August opened the front door and put on her blades. She took off down the sidewalk and down the street. Isaac watched her until she was out of sight. He closed the door and went to get something to eat.
