“Look guys! The Moffatts are here!” said Jake when the boys and Lisa walked into the basement full of cousins.
“How’s the music business?” sneered Jennifer. “If you call that music.”
“Will you just shut up!” snapped Scott.
“Feisty!” said Jennifer.
“Who’s the girl?” yelled Jake.
The Moffatts ignored their cousins.
Dave turned to Lisa, would you like to dance?” he asked.
“I don’t know how.” Lisa said.
“It’s really easy, come, I’ll teach you.” Dave said, dragging her onto the dance floor.
Scott, Clint and Bob all danced with some of their other cousin’s friends, Samantha, Gretchen and Natalie.
“You see? You’re a pretty good dancer!” Exclaimed Dave.
“Well, you’re a pretty good teacher.” Lisa said shyly.
“Well, you’re definitely improving.” Said Dave.
Lisa looked around the room. The only people she knew were the Moffatts, Jake and Jennifer. She was dancing with Dave when she saw someone who looked remarkably familiar. The girl had curly blond hair and a friendly smile. Lisa stopped dancing.
“What’s wrong?” Dave asked.
“That girl…” she trailed off.
Dave looked. “Oh, that blond girl is our cousin, Bailey’s friend. She’s also good friends with us. Her name is Samantha.”
“She…she reminds me of Sarah.”
The name shocked Dave. “Sarah? The girl who died in the fire?”
“Yeah.” Said Lisa softly. “They have the same curly blond hair and the same smile.”
“Do you want to go and see if they’re related in some sort?” asked Dave.
“Yeah, but can you come with me?” Lisa asked.
“Sure.” Dave took her hand and led her to Samantha.
“Hey Sam. This is my friend Lisa.” Dave said when they reached her and Bob.
“Hey.” Sam said. She turned to Lisa. “Hey Lisa, what brings you here?”
“I’ll leave you two alone.” Dave said, dragging Bob away from the girls.
“Your best friend’s name was Sarah and she and her family died in a fire not long ago?” Sam asked Lisa.
“Yeah.” Lisa looked down. “You look a lot like Sarah.”
“Really!” Exclaimed Sam. “That’s because…well, she’s my cousin.”
Lisa looked at Sam. “Are you serious?” she asked.
“Why would I lie?” Samantha asked. “It must be awful, being there and all.”
“It was,” said Lisa, “and then I met the guys.”
“The guys are sweet, aren’t they?” Samantha asked.
“Yeah. Do you like one of them?” Lisa asked.
“Bob is pretty cute and sweet.” Samantha said dreamily.
“Do you live around here?” Lisa asked.
“No, I live in Canada, but I come here whenever I can.” Samantha replied.
“When are you leaving?”
“Tomorrow.”
Lisa’s face fell.
“I know, I don’t want to leave either, but I’ll come back soon! I promise, I’ll write to you and I’ll e-mail you.” Samantha said, giving Lisa a hug.
“Hey babe. I’m Jake.” Jake said, walking up to Lisa. “What’s your name?”
“Lisa.” She replied.
“Well Lisa, do you want to dance?” Jake asked, flashing a grin,
“Umm…” Began Lisa.
“Come on, I’m a great dancer. All the girls love me, right Sam?” he asked.
“No.” Sam replied.
“So what do you say?” Jake asked Lisa, ignoring Samantha’s comment.
“No.” Lisa said.
“What?” Jake asked, surprised.
“No, I will not dance with you.”
“Oh.” Jake said, then he turned and walked away.
“Yo, Sam, wanna dance?” Bob came up to Sam when a slow song came on.
“Sure.” Samantha said, taking his arm and walking onto the dance floor.
Dave walked up to Lisa. “Would you like to dance?” he asked.
“S-sure.” Lisa said. She placed her hands on Dave’s shoulders. She shivered.
“Lisa? You’re shivering.” Dave said.
“I’m cold.”
“Oh.” Dave paused for a moment. “So, what did you find out about Samantha?” he asked.
“Samantha was Sarah’s cousin.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Jake walked up to Dave and Lisa, holding hands with a girl. “So Dave, do you want to change partners?” he asked.
Dave felt Lisa’s fingers grip his shoulders—hard.
“Please don’t.” Lisa whispered into his neck.
“No Jake.” Dave answered, holding on to Lisa tighter.
“Thanks for the dance.” Dave said, leading Lisa off the dance floor.
“Yeah. I’m not that comfortable with slow dances.” Lisa replied.
“Why?”
“Because, I’m just not used to the physical contact.”
“Oh.”
~*~*~
“Well, I’m glad that was over.” Clint sighed.
“Yeah, I hate Jennifer and Jake.” Agreed Bob.
“What horrible cousins.” Said Scott.
“Yeah, horrible.” Agreed Dave.
The four of them were in the bathroom, brushing their teeth. Lisa stood outside the door, knocking.
“Can I come in?” Lisa called through the door.
“Guys, do we all have our boxers on?” Dave yelled.
“YEA!”
“Ok, come in.” Scott said with a laugh.
Lisa opened the door, laughing. “Hey Scott, nice boxers.” She laughed, pointing to the black boxers with happy faces on them.
‘At least she’s laughing more now.’ Dave thought to his brothers.
Part 6
~*~*~ 1 Month later ~*~*~
Lisa is really used to her new family now, and even took the time to learn their instruments, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboard and drums. She learned their singing and playing talent.
During that time, Dave and Lisa had grown extremely close.
~*~*~ 2 Weeks Later ~*~*~
“Kids, we’re going on tour.” Announced Frank.
“To where?” asked the boys.
“Canada.”
“Yea!” they exclaimed.
“We’ll finally see Samantha again!” Bob said happily.
“And Lisa, you’re coming with us.” Said Sheila.
“Great!” said Lisa.
“Come on, all, let’s go and pack!” said Clint, running up the stairs. The others followed him.
~*~*~
“Ok, these are not mine.” Lisa said, pulling a pair of green boxers out of her suitcase.
Dave grabbed the pair of boxers and threw it at Clint.
“Just remember, my boxers are blue and red, Clint’s boxers are green, Scott’s are black and Bob’s are purple.” Dave said.
“Purple?” Lisa stifled a laugh.
“Shut up!” Bob yelled.
“Kids, it’s getting late, please, go to bed and we’ll be in Victoria in the morning.” Said Sheila.
“Ok!” The kids said, climbing into their bunk.
Scott, Bob, Dave and Clint fell asleep in a second. Lisa couldn’t fall asleep, so she walked to the back of the tour bus and turned on the TV. She turned to the music channel and watched the videos. She was about to fall asleep when she heard…
“Now, we’re going to slow it down with hotties *N Sync, with ‘God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You’.”
Lisa’s eyes popped opened. She watched the screen as the gorgeous blond sing.
“Dave?”
Dave stirred.
“Dave? Wake up.” Said a voice.
Dave opened his eyes and stared at the figure in front of him. The weird thing is, that Dave was lying down, and the figure was facing him. Dave’s shot up in bed and his head hit the bed above him. “Oww!” he moaned.
“Way to go, genius.” Said a voice.
Dave sat up and looked straight. A figure stood in front of him with curly blond hair.
“Hi Sarah.” Said Dave.
“So you remember me.” Sarah replied.
“Of course. I met your cousin, Samantha.”
“How’s Samantha anyway?” asked Sarah.
“Oh she’s doing ok.”
“Enough about that.” Sarah said. “For the next few days, Lisa and you will become closer. Don’t scare her.”
“What do you mean?”
“I have to go.” Sarah said.
“One more thing. Where are you parents?” asked Dave.
“My parents came with me the first time, because they’re afraid that I’ll get lost and go the wrong way or something.”
“You mean to hell?” Dave laughed.
Sarah raised an eyebrow at him.
“Sorry.” Dave said sheepishly. “Why do you have to go so quick?”
“You know, in heaven, there are lots of cute guys…” Sarah grinned
“Geez. Forget I said anything.” Dave groaned.
“Good bye.” Sarah said before she vanished.
Dave went back to bed but couldn’t fall asleep. He walked to the back of the bus into the TV room. He walked in and saw Lisa staring at the TV.
“Lisa? Are you ok?” Dave walked to the couch and sat down beside her. “Lisa?”
Lisa’s head turned towards Dave. She smiled.
“I saw *N Sync’s video. It was beautiful.”
“Really?” Dave asked.
Lisa leaned against Dave’s chest and fell asleep. Dave wanted to get up, but Lisa looked like a little angel and he didn’t want to disturb her, so he wrapped his arms around her thin body and fell asleep.
~*~*~ The Next Day ~*~*~
Dave woke up when the sun shone in his eyes. He tried to move, but realized that he couldn’t. Lisa was still leaning on him.
Dave took the remote and turned on the TV. 98 Degrees’ ‘The Hardest Thing’ was playing.
Almost immediately, Lisa woke up. She looked into Dave’s eyes.
“Good morning Dave.” Lisa said quietly.
Dave smiled and kissed her on the cheek.
Lisa gasped.
“What’s wrong?” Dave asked, worried.
“Nothing. I’ve never felt a kiss before. I never kissed anyone either.” Lisa confessed.
“You’re kidding!” Dave exclaimed.
“Yeah.” Lisa said.
“Do you want to experience your very first kiss?” Dave asked.
“Do you want to?” Lisa asked shyly.
“Yeah.” Dave blushed. “Are you ready?”
Lisa took a deep breath. “Ready.”
Dave laughed softly. “Relax.” He leaned down and placed his mouth on hers and together, they kissed softly.
A few seconds later, they pulled apart. They sighed.
“I’ve never experienced that before.” Lisa commented, and they laughed.
~*~*~
Part 7
“Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls! Here are The Moffatts!”
The Moffatt brothers ran onto the stage and started to play ‘Let’s Party’.
After the song Dave cleared his throat and scan the crowd, looking for Lisa.
“The next song is dedicated to our good friend Lisa. We’ll be there for you.” Dave smiled at Lisa, and started to sing.
“Saw you this morning with that look in your eyes
I hate to see you looking like you’re lost and lonely
It isn’t easy when you’re all by yourself
Don’t you worry, I hear you, cause I know what it’s like
And if you look you’ll find
I got you on my mind
I’ll be there for you
When you need somebody
I’ll be there for you
When you want someone who cares
When you’re down and feeling blue
I’ll be there for you
I wanna show you
How good it good it would be
Never needed anyone the way I need you right now
You know you’ll never be alone anymore
We can make it, together
It’s gonna be all right.
And if you look you’ll find
I got you on my mind
I’ll be there for you
When you need somebody
I’ll be there for you
When you want someone who cares
When you’re down and feeling blue
I’ll be there for you…”
Lisa watched Dave sing happily into his microphone. She smiled. Dave is so sweet. She’s falling in love with him, only she didn’t know it yet. She never experienced love before. She can feel tears in her eyes.
When the song was over, Scott said into the microphone, “Lisa? Come up here!”
The bodyguard named Aaron led Lisa onto the stage. Scott and Clint took her hands and helped her up. Lisa stood there, in the middle of the stage. After that, Scott and Dave ran off the stage.
“Lisa here, loves 98 Degrees. When she first met us, she never heard any of their songs, until Dave played ‘The hardest Thing’ for her.” Said Bob, walking out to the front of the stage. “She also love *N Sync, but we’re unable to get them.”
Lisa’s eyes widened.
“So, here’s a surprise for you! 98 Degrees!” Clint yelled into his microphone.
Scott and Dave walked back onto the stage. Following him were Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre!
Lisa just stared at them. She couldn’t believe her eyes. 98 Degrees is standing right there in front of her.
Nick walked up to Lisa and smiled. “You must be Lisa.”
Lisa nodded.
Nick, Jeff, Drew and Justin placed their microphones against their lips and started to sing.
“You’re my sunshine after the rain
You’re the cure against my fair and pain
‘Cause I’m loosing my mind when you’re not around
It’s all, it’s all because of you…”
Lisa smiled happily. She looked at all the Moffatts who were standing on stage around her. Frank and Sheila were there too.
“That was such a great concert.” Lisa said, leaning back on her chair.
They were in a private restaurant. Lisa, Dave, Clint, Scott, Bob, Frank, Sheila, Nick, Drew, Justin and Jeff were sitting around a large table.
“So who planned all this?” Lisa asked.
They all looked at Dave. He blushed.
“Well, I found out that 98 Degrees were going to be here yesterday, doing a concert, so I called their manager, and asked them if they could perform here, and here they are!” said Dave.
Lisa gave Dave a hug. “Thank you.”
Dave just smiled.
Part 8
“So Lisa, do you have a boyfriend?” Drew asked.
“No.” Lisa said, “Why?”
“Oh, it’s just that you’re really pretty, and I was just wondering…” Drew trailed off.
“Bozo, you’re too old!” said Nick, laughing.
“So? You’re older!” cried Drew.
“Really Drew, you’re cute and all, but you’re a bit too old.” Lisa said, laughing.
Everyone laughed. They all knew that Drew and Nick were just pretending.
Lisa was having the time of her life.
~*~*~ One Week Later… ~*~*~
“Where are we going now?” asked Clint.
“We’re going to Edmonton’s West Edmonton Mall’s HMV to perform, and to have an autograph session.” Replied Sheila.
“Cool.” Said Scott. “I remember our first time in West Edmonton Mall. Melissa squeezed my hand so hard! And then Tiffany asked me to sign something to her friend who was in Hong Kong on vacation and…oh gosh, I don’t even remember. Let’s just
say that Melissa squeezed my hand and that hurt!” he cried. The others laughed.
“I remember when we first met Melissa and Tiffany. Boy, that Melissa, what a grip!” Dave laughed.
“I don’t think I could write after that hand shake. Not after a while, that is.” Said Clint.
“You wuss! You’re probably trying to keep the drool in your mouth when you saw Tiffany!” said Bob.
“Shut up Bob! That was 2 years ago!” said Clint.
“Do you still have their e-mail addresses?” asked Scott.
“Yup!” Dave easily recited Melissa and Tiffany’s e-mail addresses to them. (NOTE: THAT WAS NOT TRUE! NONE OF THIS HAPPENED! I (MELISSA) WAS IN HONG KONG AT THAT TIME AND MISSED THE A/G SESSION! BUT, I MUST SAY, THAT I DO HAVE A PRETTY STRONG GRIP!)
“We should e-mail them and tell them that we’re coming. We should hang out with them again. They’re great friends.” Said Clint.
“Especially Tiffany, right Clint?” Scott nudged his younger brother playfully.
“Shut up!” Clint said, blushing.
“Well, I like Melissa. She’s cute.” Said Scott.
“We know!” his brothers said.
The boys talked about them for a while, and turned to Lisa.
“Um, Lisa, do you want to sing a song and play a couple of songs with us?” asked Bob.
“Ok.” Lisa said shyly.
“Um Lisa,” began Clint, “I have a question.”
“Shoot.”
“Could you please tell me more about your family?”
Dave shot Clint an evil look.
“Sure.” Lisa sighed. “My brother is a nosy ass, my sister is a suck up and she’s a slut. My parents treat me like crap, and I lived my life with everyone thinking that I’m some loser with no life.”
Scott whistled. “Whoa, your words are different. More confident now that you’re living with us.”
“I guess we’re a bad influence on you.” Bob said with a laugh.
“Why is your brother nosy?” Clint asked.
“He snoops in every notebook I owned, because he wanted to know what my feelings were. He tells my parents everything and watches when they beat on me. He’s just an ass, that’s all.”
“Just remember that you’re with us now.” Dave said, giving her a reassuring hug.
“Thanks.” Lisa said, smiling. “My dad is awful! He listens on my phone calls and stuff. He’s also an annoying little ass. I hate them all!”
