“Oh, my gosh, this is so exciting! I can’t wait until we get there!” exclaimed
Katie.
“Me neither!” agreed Amy.
Amy and Katie were two 14 year old girls. They were on their way to a Moffatts
concert in Vancouver. Amy’s mom was driving them, and they were very excited.
They were about halfway to Vancouver, but wished that they were there right
then. Katie looked at her watch. It was 2:00. The concert was at 7:00. She
bounced up and down in her seat a little.
“What?” asked Amy.
“I wish we were there right now!” she replied.
“Yeah, so do I” agreed Amy.
Finally, at about 4:30, they pulled into the parking lot of the hotel they were
going to be staying at. They were going to stay in a hotel for two nights, then
stay with Amy’s relatives for another four nights. After checking out their
rooms (one for Amy and Katie, one for Amy’s mom, Rhonda), they got back into the
car and went shopping for a little bit. They ate dinner at 5:30, then headed to
where the concert was to be held.
While Amy and Katie were sitting in their seats, they could see backstage a
little bit. Katie was looking backstage to see if I could see any of the
Moffatts when she saw Bob. He was looking out over the crowd.
“Amy, look! There’s Bob,” Katie told her pointing.
“Oh, my gosh,” said Amy. When he started looking over in the area where Amy and
Katie were, they started waving. Bob smiled, and waved back, then walked
completely backstage so that they couldn’t see him.
“He is so cute!” Katie exclaimed.
“Nuh-uh, Clint is,” Amy argued.
“What’s the difference? They’re identical twins!” said Katie. They started
laughing.
“Who were you two waving at?” asked Rhonda.
“Bob,” Amy and Katie answered.
“Oh,” said Rhonda. “Which one’s he?”
“The drummer,” answered Katie.
“I see,” said Rhonda.
About fifteen minutes later, the concert started. Since Amy and Katie had never
been to a Moffatts concert before, they didn’t know what to expect. But there
was no argument that it was an awesome concert! When it was over, it was about
9:00. Amy, Rhonda, and Katie went out to the car, and drove back to the hotel.
When they got back to the hotel, at about 9:30, Amy and Katie went into their
room to talk about the concert.
“Man, Clint looked so fine!” said Amy.
“I have to admit, he did look pretty cute. It made me mad; I could barely see
Bob behind his drums,” Katie complained. Amy smiled. “And gosh, when Scott took
his shirt off, I thought everyone was gonna die!” Katie went on.
“I know,” Amy agreed laughing.
After talking about the concert for a little longer, they decided to go swimming
in the hotel pool. So they got on their swimsuits, grabbed some towels, and
headed down to the pool. Surprisingly, there was nobody in there. The two girls
decided to sit in the hot tub for a little bit, and sat in it and talked. They
had been talking for about twenty minutes, when someone walked into the
poolroom. Amy and Katie turned and looked to see who it was. Both of them
clapped their hands to their mouths, and stared in shear shock. It was Bob,
Clint, Scott, and Dave Moffatt! Amy and Katie looked at each other excitedly,
then looked at Bob, Clint, Scott, and Dave as they jumped into the pool. Then
they started talking again.
Amy and Katie were talking, when Katie started laughing. “What?” asked Amy.
“Remember that one time that your uncle’s dog walked into the light post?!”
Katie asked.
“Yes!” Amy replied, and they started laughing really hard. When they finally
stopped, Amy noticed that Bob, Scott, Clint and Dave were looking at them kinda
funny.
“Hi,” she said to them.
“Hey,” they said.
“What’s up?” asked Scott.
“Not much,” answered Katie.
“What’re your guys’ names?” asked Clint.
“Amy,” replied Amy.
“Katie,” Katie replied.
“I’m Scott, this is Clint, this is Bob, and this is Dave,” Scott said,
introducing all of them.
“Yeah, we know,” Katie thought to herself.
“Hi,” Amy and Katie said.
“What room are you guys in?” asked Bob.
“275,” Amy answered. “What room are you guys in?” she asked in return as she and
Katie started getting out of the hot tub.
“436,” answered Clint.
“438,” replied Scott.
“We have two separate rooms. One for me and Scott, and one for Bob and Clint,”
explained Dave.
“Cool,” Katie said as she and Amy slid into the pool. They gasped, shocked by
the cold water. “Cold!” they exclaimed in unison. The guys laughed. Katie
playfully splashed Bob with some water.
“Hey!” he exclaimed, splashing her back. She splashed him again, grinning. He
rubbed his eyes. “That got in my eyes,”
“Sorry,” Katie said, stifling laughter. The next thing she knew, Bob lunged at
her, and dunked her under the water. She came up gasping for air. Amy, Clint,
Scott and Dave were laughing, and Bob was smiling. “I know have ten gallons of
water up my nose. Thank you,” she said, but she was smiling.
“I’m sorry,”
“It’s okay,”
The six of them started talking, and soon they had a conversation going.
Throughout the conversation, Bob looked at the two girls funny.
“What?” Katie asked him when she caught him staring once.
“You guys look familiar,” he answered.
“We went to the concert tonight,” said Amy.
“Yeah, we waved at you, and you waved back,” Katie added.
“Oh, that was you?” asked Bob. Amy and Katie nodded. “Okay, now I know why you
look so familiar.”
About ten minutes later, Scott and Dave decided they were gonna go up to their
room and watch a movie. Bob and Clint stayed down in the pool, and continued
talking with Katie and Amy. A few minutes after Scott and Dave left, Amy said,
“I’m cold.”
“Do you want to go get into some dry clothes, then meet us in our room and hang
out? Maybe watch a movie or something?” asked Clint.
“That sounds good,” said Amy.
“Yeah,” Katie agreed. The four of them climbed out of the pool, dried off a
little bit, and then started walking towards the elevator.
Before Amy and Katie got off, Katie asked, “Room 436, right?”
“Yep,” answered Bob and Clint.
“Okay, see you in a few.”
Amy and Katie walked into their room and shut the door.
“Oh, my gosh,” said Amy.
“We now personally know the Moffatts. And we’re going up to Bob and Clint’s room
to talk to them. Oh, my gosh,” Katie said. They squealed, then changed into some
dry clothes.
As they were changing, Amy said, “You were flirting with Bob.”
“No, I wasn’t. What are you talking about?” Katie asked with a huge grin on her
face. Amy rolled her eyes, but smiled. “There’s Katie for you, the total flirt,”
she thought. “He’s so cute. How could I not flirt with him?” asked Katie.
Amy shrugged. “Just don’t flirt with him all night. I may get sick.”
“Oh, no you won’t,” Katie said, pulling on a pair of jean shorts. “You ready?”
“Yep.”
“Let’s go then.”
Amy grabbed the room key, and they set off for Bob and Clint’s room.
