An American band offers their British Invasion for the 21st Century: "Glass onions"

Glass onions Mourns Loss of Ted Alfiere

We were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected passing of our bass player and friend, Ted Alfiere. Ted passed away Friday, December 28, 2007.

Ted joined us toward the end of the summer of 2007, and he played with us at the Hilton Applefest, September 30th.

A long-time friend of drummer John Borelli, Ted was a veteran bass player, having performed with many bands throughout his career.

Ted was an easy guy to like. He fit in with the other band members from the beginning. He really enjoyed playing with us and especially liked our song selections, including the originals. Glass onions was very anxious to incorporate his singing skills into the band starting in 2008.

Ted Alfiere will be sorely missed. Our heart goes out to his family and loved ones. In tribute to Ted, who loved being a member of Glass onions, we will continue to list him as a member of the band, until a replacement bass player is found. Once we find a replacement, we will continue to reserve a special place on this website, dedicated to his memory.

to accommodate smaller venues.
