Why Japanese releases differ from common European or US releases? The
reason is that in order to avoid Japanese retailers trying to sell the
import releases (i.e. European or US releases), Japanese records companies
add bonus track(s) or a bonus disc. Japanese retailers can get import
releases for a lower price so they can make more money if they actually
sell these for the regular sales price. Fans are more interested in the
Japanese releases which have more tracks. So the true reason for Japanese
releases is economical. If Japanese retailers would only sell import
releases for lower price, the Japanese record companies would
suffer a lot.
