Leeroy Thornhill was Prodigy's dancer for over nine year. Leeroy decided to leave the band in spring 2000 because he wanted to concentrate on his solo career. He also felt that Prodigy didn't need a dancer anymore. There were also rumors that there were dispute about the musical direction of the Prodigy.

Leeroy's first solo record came out in 1993 undet a guise of Lowrise. There's no information at all about this 12" white label. Leeroy started to do DJ sets in Essex in 1995 and he did a DJ set at Primal Scream's gig in 2000.

    THE LONGMAN EP
Leeroy released his second solo record in 1996. It was a 12" white label known as 'The Longman EP'. The EP contained four tracks: 'Dreamers', 'The Suspect', 'The Smoker' and 'Rock It'. The tracks were somewhere between break beat and elektro. 'The Smoker' contains a sample from 'The Badman Is Robbin' performed by Hijack.

In spring 2000 Leeroy left the Prodigy. The most important reason was that he wanted to concentrate to his own music. "I have been a full member of Prodigy for a brilliant nine years. I now wish to concenrate fully on my own music Flightcrank," he said. Leeroy was signed by Copasetik Recordings. He changed his solo project's title into 'Flightcrank'.

Leeroy did his first remix for Moby, in 1994. He remixed his song 'Come On Baby'. However this remix has never been released. In 1995 Leeroy remixed Shades Of Rhythm's 'Psycho Bass'. He has also done remixes for such artists as Dr. Dooom and Southern Fly.

    FLIGHTCRANK EP
Leeroy's first commercial single was released in June 2000. The EP contained four tracks, 'Twisted (Original Version)', 'Twisted (Lee Scratch Perry Version)', 'Drifter' and 'Masterplan'. 'Drifter' featured vocals by Diane Charlemaine (who sang on Goldie’s 1994 hit 'Inner City Life'). Apparently only 1,000 2 x 7" and CD copies were made.

After his debut EP, Leeroy remixed Runaway feat. Masta Ace 'Express Delivery' and David Gray 'Babylon'.

    AMAZING
The first single taken from Leeroy's debut album was 'Amazing'. It was released 23rd April 2001. Leeroy even made a video of the song.

    BEYOND ALL REASONABLE DOUBT
Leeroy's debut album was titled 'Beyond All Reasonable Doubt'. It wasn't a success and it didn't get good reviews in the press. 'Beyond...' contained 14 songs including collaborations with Charli Tucker, Lee Scratch Perry and Finley Quaye. It was released in 5th March 2001.

In 2001 Leeroy did DJ sets under his moniker - he was the support act on Finley Quaye's, Primal Scream's and Placebo's tour.

    WHAT U NEED
The second single taken from the debut album was 'What U Need'. It was released 23rd July 2001 and the song was remixed by Maxim, Genaside II (who remixed Prodigy's 'Jericho' in 1992) and Adamski.
