ALWAYS OUTNUMBERED, NEVER OUTGUNNED Titan Liam wrote 'Titan' for a pornographic monie called Uranus Experiment Part II in 1999 and the song also appeared on Uranus Experiment Part III. There has been plans to release the song on (James Lavelle's) Mo' Wax record label under the guise of Paul Paris. Liam: "Rob (del Naja, from Massive Attack) was asked to do it and he asked if I'd be into doing something as well, so we kind of swapped ideas. I don't think of it as a finished track, really. It's kind of raw, just ideas." No Souvenirs 'No Souvenirs' is a collaboration with 3D (real name Robert del Naja) from Massive Attack. Massive Attack is one of Liam's favourite bands and Liam has often praised 'Mezzanine' as one of the best albums of 90s. 'No Souvenirs' was originally meant to be released on the soundtrack of the movie The Beach but Liam and Ropert del Naja felt that the soundtrack was too commercial and that the song was "too good to give away". It was meant to be the first single from the 4th Prodigy album. This remix was done by Dan' The Automator' Nakamura who is best know for his work on Dr. Octagon and Gorillaz projects. The remix wasn't good enough for the band and it hasn't been released. The offical title of the remix is unknown. Not much information at this point. Possibly released on 12" white label. Baby's Got A Temper Uses samples from 'Firestarter'. 'Baby's got A Temper' was originally recorded by Keith for his solo project but eventually the song ended up as a Prodigy song and even to be released as a single. Even though the single was considered to be a come-back single, the band saw it as the end of their 'The Fat Of The Land' era. Keith: "The song is just thoughts summoned up about nights out, getting high, bringing yourself back down again. In its original format, it was quite slow, drugged-out sort of song. Almost smacked out - which I wasn't doing myself, at all. But that's where it was comming from." Liam: "It's a reflection on what goes on in Keith's mad head and his mad world. The overall feel is like, Keith gets fucked up, goes out with these girls, comes back and writes a song reflecting on his nights out with these girls. He came to me and I'm like, 'Fucking cool'. I like it." Girls The song features The Ping Pong Bitches on vocals and uses a sample from 'Style Of The Srteet' performed by Broken Glass. This version features Maxim on vocals. Memphis Bells The album version features Princes Superstar on vocals. The song was (possibly) originally titled as 'Ice'. This song was - with different variations - available as a digital download. Each download had its own art work. Spitfire Features vocals from actress Juliette Lewis. Liam: "It's all about the attack for me. It's about how the song attacks and bursts out of the speakers. That's something I push on most Prodigy records - I'm not so good at mellow music." Get Up Get Off Features rapper Twista on vocals. The original title was during writing process was 'I Hate You'. Liam: "It's New York meets London electro, really. Just clashing the styles of New York and London." This version was available to those beyers who ordered the whole 'Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned' from iTunes (US) music download site. Hotride Juliette Lewis provided the vocals for this song which uses elements from Fifth Dimension's 'Kitch Up, Up and Away'. It became the second single to be taken from the album. Wake Up Call Vocals by Kool Keith. The song is about Liam's new methods to write music. "A slap in the face to myself after 'Baby's Got A Temper'. I needed to change, or we were fucked." Action Radar Features vocals by Paul Jackson who is the singler of a local Essex punk band Dirt Candy. Medusa's Path The song uses a sample from Jaydee's 'Plastic Dreams'. The original title in the early stage was 'Sandstorm'. Phoenix This song was originally titled 'Love Buzz'. In fact, the whole song is a cover version of Shocking Blue's 1969 track 'Love Buzz' which was covered by Nirvana years ago. Liam: "I was out in London - usual thing, diving in and out of a few bars - and I just kept hearing this record, the original, over and over again. The voice - it was spooky to me, it was really kind of freaky." You'll Be Under My Wheels Uses samples from 'Poppa Large' by Ultramagnetic MC's. Prodigy's old live song 'Rock N Roll' used the same sample. The Way It Is Samples Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. Liam: "I was drinking Red Bull and Vodka, and I wanted to chew Michael Jackson's arse off and spit it back out again." Shootdown Features the Oasis boys Liam Gallagher on vocals and Noel Gallagher on bassguitar. The original title was 'The Gun'. This song uses same elements as 'Trigger'. Good Morning An unreleased collaboration with Juliette Lewis. Might be released later on. |
