While Madonna enjoys the fruits of her labor for the first Los Angeles Drowned World Tour show - the USA World Trade Centre and Pentagon Complex's are attacked by terrorists, sending part of the Pentagon to the ground and both twin towers of the World Trade Centre perished with all the people inside the buildings.The current death toll stands at more than 5000 official deaths and more than 11,000 body bags are being used to escort the dead out of the center of New York. 4 airplanes were used in the attacks on America, two United Airline planes and two US Airline planes crashed, two into the World Trade Centre, one into the Pentagon and one crashed in a feild in Pittsburgh apparently on its way to destroy Air Force One. All 4 planes were hi-jacked by terrorist believed to be linked to Osama Bin Laden, an Arabic terrorist who has an army of attackers in his grudge against the United States.

Due to the events that took place in the USA on September 11, between 8.45am and 11am, her Drowned World Tour LA show at 9pm was posponed. Tickets for the 11th show will be good for a new show scheduled for play on the 15th of September. Madonna expressed her concern at her show in LA last night (13th) saying "We are all to blame, not just Bin Laden. If you are homophobic or racist or hate, you contributed to this disaster. Killing people in the name of god has nothing to do with god". Then she walked up the stair to sing Secret and said "If you want to change the world, change yourself!"
She wore an American Flag during "Impressive Instant" instead of the tartan skirt. During the violent gun attack in her show you watched her as she put her gun down (after thinking what she should do about this part of the show) walked over to the man she shoots, grabbed him and they both desended under the stage. All the profits from the LA Dorwned World shows goes to the victims of the New York tragedy.

You will need to go thru a hell of a lot of security for any of Madonna's shows over the next few days after the attacks on the US metal detectors have been installed. Security guards will be emptying all handbags and allowing no equipment into the stadiums. You will need to get to any performance one hour before Madonna gets on stage.

With The Drowned World Tour 2001 finishing, Madonna is most likely feeling the effects on the world at this point in time. She has donated $1M to children suffering from the disaster in New York last Tuesday, exactly a week ago today. Madonna said some strong word of relief for those watching her last show in Los Angeles:
"Violence begets violence and i don't know about you, but i want to live a long a happy life and i want my kids to live a long and happy life. We aren't doing these shows because we want people to forget, we are doing them because we want you to remember how precious life is. It was horrible, but i would like you to think of it as a wake up call. There's terrorism all over the world!"
Guy Ritchie also made a special appearence during the technician jumping on stage section of Beautiful Stranger. Madonna's last show on September 15, 2001, seemed to be full of surprises.

Could Madonna be thinking of retiring?? This is the question on everyone's lips right now, as The Drowned World Tour just finished. Australia's NW magazine, last week, reported that two Australian competition winners got backstage at her NY show and were liasing with backstage personnel. Don't ask me how this is possible, but the rumors via the crew (who apparently fit Madonna's swing-suit every night) were that she never wants to do a World Tour again. British papers are saying that the NY tragedy has hit close to home for Madonna and she just wants to spend time with her children in the furture. The rumor was also added by NW mag that Madonna is once again pregnant.

An Irish festival named Slane may feature Madonna next June, to override U2 as the headlining act...Madonna's people are apparently in "talks" with the organisers about her appearence. This may squash rumors that she is never performing again. It may also give Australia a chance to travel and see her future performances, even though they aren't a complete show, at least we get to see her live! We'll keep you posted about that too!

Quite a special selection of songs, and according to Rolling Stone News, tracks This Used To Be My Playground, Rain and I'll Remember were not included in this 1991-2001 collection because they featured on "Something To Remember" - Madonna's 1995 Greatest Ballad Hits collection.
The album is due for release on November 12 in Australia, 13 in the US...

Madonna has been nominated for 8 VH1 crazy awards including Best Concert, Best Belly Button Appearence and the I Wish I Wrote That Song Of The Year for "Don't Tell Me"...Don't Tell Me is up for four awards including Best Video.

Heavy TV advertising for the new album is going to happen in the US with more than 7000 tv spots up to Christmas 2001. The Drowned World Tour DVD with backstage footage will be released along with the new album. No word as yet on a GHV2 compliation of videos...you can purchase every single Madonna video ever released thru the [mavstar catalogue] if you don't own them all already! Apparently mega-mixes are being made for radio to promote the album. It has also been announced that along with "Justify My Love" being the highest selling VHS single EVER, "Music" has become the highest selling DVD single ever!!! With more top 10 single than any other female artist, Madonna still remains the icon of the century.
The inner sleeves of the GHV2 album will contain single covers of the hits featured, something Madonna's record compant have never ever done before! Plus plenty of Tour Program shots and those ELLE shoot photos!

This fabulous shot from the Drowned World Tour 2001, features on the cover of the DVD which is set for release at the same time as GHV2. The DVD includes all the tracks from the live set we all saw in Detroit, plus the special "Dear Daddy" song. This will be the highlight of the GHV2 release, and it has nothing to do with it!! The DVD is apparently coming with backstage footage and stuff we've never seen before including different camera angles to the HBO special. The vh1 program in the US always delivers the goods...it's a damn shame we don't all get it here in Australia. Recently ET did a segment on the special called "Evolution", all about Madonna's early years and her rise to fame. They have exclusives such as the featured items above, with collections from all over the world and from all walks of life. The website has everything that you missed!

Warner Bros Records have just updated their site and it is fantastic with an exclusive preview of the full GHV2 Remix that could be released in the future. Apparently it will be available to radio and heavy TV advertising will be ahead. As you may have read somewhere, Andrew Morton has the truth on Madonna's rape at knifepoint, he has new pictures, he goes thru Madonna's men to make her out to be a slut form way back...apparently she had "love affairs" with JFK Jr. and the ever-so-tacky Vanilla Ice (he is a person, not a flavor)...whatever you do, don't even try to get your infor,ation from books like this. They NEVER know the facts and NEITHER do you! Andrew's 92 book on Diana, i'm certain, contributed to her death. Bold statement? The press promised to stop hounding celebs after the tragic accident of 1997, but they have not....I'd wait for Madonna's autobiography - the real truth shall be told! Meanwhile, in addition to this stupid book, Mad's features on the new People and OK mags for October/November 2001....

GHV2 Entered the world charts quite disappointingly with a huge ad campaign in the US and a few ads here and there in Australia. Westlife bet Madonna to the top spot and even new artists along with Michael Jackson bet Madonna to the top spot in the US.

Release dates have been changing for months for this album, but we have some information. The release of the limited edition GHV2 will be on November 30, 2001 in The Netherlands. In Australia on December 10, 2001. According to local press. The Japanese GHV2 album did not get released with two live tracks on it, as per stated on this site previously. The DVD of Madonna's Drowned World Tour will be out in Australia on December 3, 2001, a week before the LTD ED Album. The latest Madonna cover to come out of the UK, Entertainment Design focuses on the DWT and the technical side of things. They put it quite interestingly how the set works and focus on special effects. Madonna was also a recent winner when "Ray Of Light"
was recently named the number 10 best album ever by VH1 voters. The copetit-
ion saw U2's "The Joshua Tree" coming in at number 1 and Michael Jackson's
