voicepopfoible's latest CD is Blessed are the Taste Makers
Recorded at Newmarket Studios under the excellent guidance of Captain Ben Hurt, Blessed are the Taste Makers treats fans to 13 tracks of the sumptuous audio feast that is expected of vpf.
Special guests abound! Keyboard maestro Kiernan Box (from Augie March and the Black Eyed Susans) graces a number of the songs whilst the Victorian Minister for Youth Affairs (the Honourable Jacinta Allan) does the party faithful proud with a largely competent tenor horn solo. There is also a non-ABC endorsed song co-written by ABC Radios Derek Guille. As they confess in their song, Band Without A Genre, voicepopfoible confidently traverse a myriad of musical landscapes whilst reproducing their distinctive original sound. From offbeat/upbeat acapella through funk grooves and brassy swingouts to rock ballads, voicepopfoible have produced an album which captures well the diversity of their live shows in a quality recording. The album also brings alive the Foibles attention to lyrical oddness and forthright political tastemaking. Buying a CD Blessed are the Taste Makers can be purchased (from anywhere in the whole wide world!) through our good friends at Innovative Resources. You'll have to scroll down their page just a little bit. While you're there, you could also ask them about "The Polkinghorns of Charlton".
