Blessed Are The Tastemakers (independent)
Those of you who read CV Week will know this Bendigo quartet will be played on ABC Radio across Australia as part of its Fresh Air project.
Second album 'Blessed are the Tastemakers' lives up to the hype.
'Quirky' comes to mind to describe the group's sound - jazzy opener 'Pow Kazam' is about a stylish superhero, while 'Kakadu' takes the tune of 'Blue Moon' and turns it into a environmental protest. Pigeonholing voicepopfoible is just about impossible, as their song 'Band Without A Genre' suggests, but this doesn't make them any less listenable.
The world needs more bands with a brass section, I say, so check this one out.
