Babyface is one of the most successful producers in the music business. He may well be the best. He is definately my favorite producer, and songwriter, and music idol. I love his ballad-styled music ever since 1988, when I first heard him and his music was really smooth. Don't you also forget that many woman thinks he is handsome as well. Good looks, great music, great talent. He is truly "THE MAN"! I didn't give him that "title" by myself only, even Ebony thought he was the Man in one of last year's issue. (Can't remember which one) Anyway, if you are a lady. You will be disppointed that he is married and very much dedicated to his beloved wife... so do you know his life? If not, let me introduce you to him. No. I am not his real life friend or anything, but I learned about him as a fan...#1 fan.
This shy boy from (Gary) Indianapolis (sources different), Indiana came to earth known as Kenneth Edmonds on April 10, 1959. He has five brothers, now has a group called After 7. By the time of high-school, young Kenneth went performing with High School bands throughout the Mid-west. Then one day, he received a call to join a recording session in Cincinnati. The call got to be his life's most important call. He was asked to joining the group "Deele", teaming up with Antonio "L.A." Reid to create one of the most successful partnerships in pop/r&b history.
He recorded three albums with The Deele (Street Beat; Material Thangz; and Eyes Of A Stranger) and co-wrote their biggest hit, "Two Occasions," in 1988.
Babyface the name probably had nothing to do with space notes on the staff. It was coincinal only, but probably because he looks young like a baby. Bootsy Collins of Parliament-Funkadelic called him "Babyface" and the name has stuck ever since.
Is Deeles babyface's first album apperance? Billboard music guide says no, his first album is titiled 'babyface' out around 1977, when he was in a high school kind of band. No track listings or albums of that one is still available. Do you have some info?
Babyface now has five albums.Closer look; tender lover, which features hit single Whip appeal; lovers; For the cool in you and The day. More album and singles information right here. Babyface was awarded many times as his career goes.
As an very underrated singer, babyface's albums are never that successful like his production for other artists. Tender love was on the billboard chart postion #14 on the first week of March 1990. For the Cool in you was on the chart for many weeks before it gets a #16 spot on the week of Sep 11 1993.
