| With Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background, I have attempted to reconnect the E.S.L version of "Xanadu", I have chosen to include pyramids in the background, in addition to an obelisk,in order to represent the Ancient Egyptian civilization in all of it's glory! |
This acrylic on pressed hardboard painting represents the beginning of the traveler's spiritual quest, not unlike Close To The Edge |
| Although, the least favorite of my paintings from this series, this view represents the garden dreamed of by our traveller; the columns are deliberately blurry, in order to represent ancient Mediterranean civilizations. |
The above painting is the intrepid pilgrim's vision of the garden of "Xanadu." This reminds one certainly of Dark Side Of The Moon |
| The cutaway section of the pleasure dome. This represents man's failure to create a paradise on earth, note that there is the real sun obscured by the clouds surrounding the pleasure dome. The trees appear to be dying and that no other forms of life besides vegetation can be seen. This is an artificially created place. |
The above 24" X 48" painting, created by A. K. Davis, is the vision of the pleasure dome. This vision could also be considered an "Endless Enigma" |
| This, the most important of the 4 paintings represents an individual's choices about his spiritual journey, it is unknown as to whether the visions seen are real or imagined. |
This vision is at the point just before the traveller has arrived at "Xanadu." |
