Delirious Tremors - Get Used To It

Left to Right: Jamie Ely, Gary Gerber, John Dendak, Gil Croft

Delirious Tremors has been brewing and incubating in the mind of Founding Father, John Dendak, for over ten years. "It took a lot of effort and trial-and-error to get a group together that was committed to an original band." There was also the matter of assembling the equipment required. John and Electric Violinist Gary L. Gerber have been friends since bussing tables together at Red Lobster back in 1975. John was really into Jerry Garcia, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Phil Keaggy and Segovia, while Gary was really into Kansas, Black Sabbath, Styx and Manfred Mann. These early influences are evident in the music of Delirious Tremors.

The band was finally put together in the Summer of 1994, when John found drummer, Ron, who brought bassist Dave Carlisle along. They joined John and finally Gary to form the DT's. After three years in the basement of Ron's and then Gary's homes, the name Delirious Tremors was chosen and the group played out at a few voluntary gigs. Although many songs had been written previously and the band had been working on more, things were not working out with Ron. Salina Carper came on-board after John had interviewed several drummers that lacked the confidence to go with an all original band. Given the opportunity, Salina jumped at the chance. After a little more than a year and a half together, Salina and Dave decided that they didn't have the same goals and departed. After an extensive search Gil Croft and Jamie Ely joined with John and Gary to record the CD Get Used To It. Unfortunately, Jamie was involved in a serious car accident in the fall of 1998 that sidelined him for several months. The band was finally able to get into the studio in June 1999 and finished the ten tracks that make Get Used To It in October. After some mild success gigging during 2000, the band was again beset by injury. This time Gary took a nasty fall from his machine at work and required surgery to repair his right shoulder in December 2000. Additionally, Gil decided to leave tha band for health reasons requiring another search for a bass player. That search ended when Gary ran into Jeff Marcincowey and he agreed to join the band. Additionally, the band picked up another member in guitarist Mark Lothrop who adds another dimension of power to the music.

With the official release of Get Used To It and having Mark and Jeff in place, Delirious Tremors is out of the basement and onto the streets of Northeast Ohio. They expect to be playing live in continued support of Get Used To It starting in May 2001. They are looking to go farther and faster in the upcoming months as the band is starting to spread its wings. They are a concert band - jam band and, in-line with their goals, are on their way to playing around the world.
