Yellow
Submarine
The Album
The Yellow Submarine album has been re-released
in a format different from the soundtrack album that was
issued in 1969. For the first time, all 15 of The Beatles
songs that featured in the movie are on one release - all
have been digitally remastered and remixed.
The original Yellow Submarine soundtrack of 1969 included
just six Beatles songs - the other half featured music
from the movie performed by the George Martin Orchestra.
The new album features:
Yellow Submarine, Hey Bulldog, Eleanor Rigby, Love You
To, All Together Now, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,
Think For Yourself, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club
Band, With A Little Help From My Friends, Baby You're A
Rich Man, Only A Northern Song, All You Need Is Love,
When I'm 64, Nowhere Man, It's All Too Much.

The soundtrack has also been overhauled and remixed into
Dolby TM 5.1 Surround Sound. The release will also
feature the previously unavailable animated song,
"Hey Bulldog".
The Yellow Submarine Special Edition DVD
will be available in the original widescreen format, and
include the following:
* Original wide screen format
* The fully-animated sequence, "Hey Bulldog"
* The Mod Odyssey: A behind-the-scenes featurette on the
making of Yellow Submarine, The Mod Odyssey features
interviews with the file Director and Designer. The
featurette provides insight into how the story
originated, as well as the process the designers
undertook in transforming the Beatles into animated
characters. The development of Yellow Submarine's unique
creatures is revealed. Additionally, the featurette
demonstrates how Yellow Submarine set a new standard for
animated film-making.
* Audio Commentary Track
A feature-length commentary about the film's production
is provided by one of the film's animators and designers.
* Music-Only Track
A music-only track runs in synch with the film to allow
viewers to listen to The Beatles soundtrack without
dialogue or added sound effects.
