Description of The Soundhouse Tapes

As there are lots of counterfeit copies of this record out there, a detailed description of the original is required if you want to be sure you have or are buying the real thing.

I haven't received scans of the original yet, but I scanned the pictures of the sleeve from the book Running Free. Please note that these pictures might be slightly cropped from the edges, and it is impossible to compare the colour, as there is no reference colour, and the shade depends strongly on the settings of your monitor. See the pictures in the counterfeit section if you want to just see what the labels look like approximately.

Pictures of the cover and labels:
(pic of sleeve front) (pic of sleeve back) (pic of A-side label) (pic of B-side label)

Sleeve:
Sleeve is quite a stiff card, ie. not paper of flexible card. The background colour is dark orange or light red or something inbetween. Sleeve opens from the top. On the left and right sides of the back, the front cover folds over the back.
Track listing:
Side A:
  1. Iron Maiden
Side B:
  1. Invasion
  2. Prowler
Catalog ID:
ROK 1 (both on sleeve and on labels)
Vinyl:
Regular black vinyl
Run-off area engravings:
"ROK-1-A", "*EG*" and "SA" on side A, "ROK-1-B", "*EG*" and "SA" on side B. Furthermore, there are also very faint engravings which might be "LYN 7627-IT" and side A, and "LYN 7628-IT" on side B.

Some copies have a small insert offering a T-shirt or something, but almost all copies have this missing.

At least one copy is reported to have the labels on the wrong sides, ie. side A label on side B and vice versa. I wonder if it is the only one of its kind.

Info about the engravings (among other things) was verified by Keith Wilfort, the founder and president of the fan club, whose word we certainly can believe.
