Emperor- Sophisticated Black Metal band from Norway. Their latest album, Anthems to the Welkins at Dusk is a pure masterpiece of evil. The music is so powerful, melodic, lots of keyboard and the lyrics are intelligent too. Best known for their symphonic Black Metal, which they pioneered and lots of band tried to be like that and failed; miserably. I've heard a lot about Emperor when I started to listen to newer Black Metal acts. Although they have been around for along time, it was not until In The Nightside Eclipse was released, I got the chance to hear one of their song. Overseas acts releases are hard to find in my country. I traded my Marduk demo for Wrath of the Tyrant demo by Emperor. When I first heard their songs, I was not really impressed but after the self titled LP, they managed to gained my attention. And when In the Nightside Eclipse was released, I've become a fanatic fan of them.
