A Fool In Love
Chapter 1
"My GOD, it's freezing!"
"That's what you get for wanting to live in Liverpool for awhile," my best friend laughed over the phone.
"Yeah, but I didn't think it would be THIS cold! Omigosh! Look at the time! I need to start getting ready!," I said excitedly into the phone.
"Where ya goin'?," My friend asked in her South Texas twang.
"Well, a friend invited me to hear this local group called the Beatles. I hear that they're really good!"
"BUGS?! You're going to go and see BUGS?," she said incredulously.
"No, Alissabeth. Beatles with an 'A'. They're a group that just started playing at this local cafe type place. I just love the atmosphere there!"
"What ever you say, Martha. Have fun and I'll talk to you later," my friend said over the phone in closing.
"Alright, Bye! OH! Wait! I forgot to tell you that I'm going to be heading to the States next month! So beware," I said laughing.
"The STATES??"(My friend gets overdramatic easily)"NO, NO, NO! They're ruining a perfectly good American over there! You're coming to Texas next month. Now say it."
"You're coming to Texas next month," I replied with a smile on my face.
"Smarty! I'll get you for that! Have fun! Bye!"
"Bye, Alissa!"
"Has George replaced his string? If not, I've got one here!"
"John, I don't kow. Go ask Pete."
"What's up with you, Paul? You don't seem all here or there today."
"Let me ask you a question, John. Have you ever woken up from a dream and had the feeling it would come true?"
"Yeah. Had the feeling, but it never came true. What was the dream about?"
"That I met the girl of my dreams at a show of ours. She had the face of an angel. The darkest most exotic eyes. The fullest lips. Long, shiny, dark hair...."
John whistled. "Paul, that's some bird, but snap-out of it! We have a show to do soon. And who knows? She might even show up tonight!"
"Thanks for coming, Martha! I really owe you one! I could never have come on my own!"
"It's not a problem. A group of girls in one of my classes keep going on and on about these Beatles, so it's my pleasure, Janet. Now tell me about these four 'lads'," I said with a smile.
"There you go, knocking our speeck, Martha!," Janet said laughingly. "Do I go on about your 'ya'll' and such? Well here's a short description of each: John's
the witty one, George is the quiet one, Pete is, well, Pete! I heard something about him being replaced by the drummer from Rory, but that's just a rumor. Oh! And Pau is the gorgeous one! Cutest of the bunch!"
"Well, that's quite a group! When's the show start?"
"Five minutes! Hey look! There's Thomas in the front! And it looks like he's grabbed good seats! Let's go!"
"Paul, it's almost time to go on!"
"Thanks, Pete. I'll be right out."
'What am I doing? I shouldn't be going crazy over someone who probably doesn't even exist except in my mind! AUGH! Why is this happening? I need to get ready for this show!'
"Paul? Paul. PAUL! Answer me dammit!"
"John! Sorry! I didn't hear you!"
"Really? I hadn't noticed," John said sarcastically. "Now come on! We have a show to do!"
"How exciting! My friend Alissabeth will love hearing about this next month!," I told my friends.
"Ah! You're leaving us to see your family!," Thomas said.
"I'm not leaving. Just visiting. Besides, it's not like you're going to miss me. Much," I said with a smile.
"Martha, you're something else."
"I know. Now shhhh! The show's about to start!"
