Radish, Reading Rock Festival, 25/8/97
It was an unearthly hour of 12 noon when Radish took the main stage at the Reading rock festival. They were in mint form although I’d never heard any radish songs before I was hooked instantly and only took my eyes off them when some tall git stood in the way. The set lasted a mere 25 minutes but it was filled with classic songs off the essential album - Restraining Bolt. Ben dedicated a couple of songs to various people and places and Bryan took a photo of the crowd for their scrap book, Aaawww ! They finished off with little pink stars and those in the crowed awake enough to mosh went for it, a big "hurrah!" all round!

THE LEADMILL - SHEFFIELD November 8 1997
The Leadmill is pretty empty, obviously many of us 'northern lads and lasses' lack taste, missing a chance to see Radish live is a true crime. After a long wait Radish hit the stage at 11 pm. They launch into 'Sugar Free' first, before introducing themselves. They play loads of 'Restraining Bolt' classics like 'Dear Aunt Artica', 'My Guitar' and 'The You In Me.' As well as a couple of newies, ' Super New' has the best sing-a-long chorus: 'Oi! Oi! Oi!' - or something like that! A technical hitch allows Ben and peeps to do a spot of audience/band banter ( which happens through out the gig anyway!), before he performs an amazingly-beautiful solo of 'Make It Up' . There are stage divers every where throughout the entire set, many of whom missed the crowd, yup it was that packed! A request for 'Today's Bargain' almost brings the set to it's close, but the anthem of love and longing which is 'Little Pink Stars' is saved for last. We're all drowning in sweat and spilt beer, but we do not care, because Radish rocked as if their 'ickle lives depended on it! Seconds after they leave the stage Radish are out front being super nice to all us mere mortal and mental fans. A top night indeed, possibly the best gig I've ever been to!
