This is our very 1st issue of Bass Ackwards (and hopefully not our last). We (Rena and Alissa) are quite new to this whole zine thing. We've read our share of zines and in our literary journey have found ourselves fall victim to temptation to start our own and squander the spotlight for however longa period as we could. And this is our blatant attempt. Hey, this may not be that great (or good) but it is our first try (these are trying times) and if we get just one person inspired(or madly obsessed and in love with us) then the effort was worth it.

We try to realate the articles in our zine to topics that our likely readers will identify with, laugh at, or just plain comprehend. The music we review, advertise for, or write about is mainly punkrock and ska...but we always try to open our horizons. However, we do not want this to become one of those zines who focus on just one thing like a type of music (or band for that matter). We also want your feedback, art, poetry, stories, whatever, because the fact of the matter is that we don't have enough time, effort....or talent to meet everyone's highest expectations.

We encourage you to read with caution, support your scene, hug your friends, send us large sums of $$, tip counter people, and share the maic of Bass Ackwards with your friends and family. Pass this on to a friend when you're through....or put it in a glass case, you decide. ENJOY!!!
