Alan Case signed a contract in the summer of 1999
with Dutch record label Bee & Bee Records. The label has issued his first album under the new label entitled Dark Matter.
Case released his first album in Japan under
the Avalon Records label (a subsidiary of
Marquee, Inc.) called WIDE
AWAKE in 1997.
His other prior release was on a Japanese
compilation sampler from Belle Antique Records called
LOST YEARS IN LABYRINTH II. The
WIDE AWAKE songs "Fast Asleep" &
"Dark Nights" were on that album.
John Bollenberg of PROGRESSIVE WORLD called Alan Case "the Alan Parsons of the Lowlands!" He adds that "DARK MATTER delivers one of the best albums ever in Holland's history of pop music."
Of his 1997 album, Britain's WONDEROUS STORIES said that the album WIDE AWAKE has,"many contrasts in styles and Alan (Case) is a very good songwriter"...FILE UNDER SYMFO of The Netherlands said that WIDE AWAKE was "The best album of 1997!"...iO Pages, also based in The Netherlands, said that "This album is a great piece of music and it's unbelievable that Alan has been completely ignored in his own country."...EMPIRE magazine of Germany
said that WIDE AWAKE was "one of the prog highlights of the year (1997)."
