Not much this week, I've just been cleaning out the site - but stay tuned, there's some great stuff on the way.

Carl.

20 March 1998

Hey People,

I've heard a rumour that there'll be a Vernon gig at the Cooler, NYC on April 11th. Stay tuned.

Also, there's a new section to the site, Reviews, in which You, the fans, give your review of any related gigs you've seen. The review of course doesn't have to be great, its just a resource. If you want to post a review, mail me.

Plus, I've updated the awards section and the guitar section.
And, a celebirity appearance in the guestbook, Justin Time! - where's the email at? :)

9 March 1998

Hi All,

First, the bad news. Unfortunately, during last weekend my house was burgled and most of my Living Colour CD collection (Yes, including Mistaken Identity) was taken. If anyone in Sydney Aus comes across a bunch of LC CDs, especially Dread (which is almost non-existent here) being sold 2nd hand or something, please let me know.

Don't Give Up The Fight.

On a brighter note, the website has won more awards. They're up at the awards page. Check it out here.

Thanks,
CARL.

6 March 1998

Hey People,

I've put up a couple of new sections to the site, which are on the front page. The site won a couple of awards recently and they're in the awards section.

Also, I'm putting up a guitar section on the site soon. Anyone with anything to contribute write in!

26 February 1998

Hi All!

Recently Vernon's latest project Chocolate Genius performed at The Knitting Factory in NYC. Chocolate Genius is made of four members including Melvin Gibbs (from the Decoding Society). During the night band members switched instruments and let others play with them.

The band was very raw, using lots of two and three chord vamps with picturesque and political lyrics. Vernon didn't play with the band. On the last song, a kid who swears his name was Justin Time played bongos with the band.

Thanks for the review Pete!

Plus there's a new article here.

And in case you missed it, here's Vernon's interview with this website.

I'm also putting some new sections up, hopefully next week.

CARL.

Part II of the Vernon Reid Interview is now up. In this part he talks about Living Colour.

Here it is: Part II.
If you missed Part I, click here.

This week saw a great performance from Will Calhoun, Doug Wimbish and Vinx in Sydney. Will tore into such rhythm a piece of his stick flew off during an extended solo sequence. Click below for tour dates around Australia.

Will's Australian Tour

Vernon played with his new project at The Knit on the 4th. More info on that show coming.

Living Colour Super Hits was released also. Unfortunately, it didn't contain anything we hadn't heard before.

Living Colour Super Hits

Contents
What's Your Favourite Colour?
Pride
Cult of Personality
Elvis is Dead

Glamour Boys
Open Letter (To A Landlord)

CARL

Well, its big news all round.
Firstly, Vernon Reid has been kind enough to have an interview with this website...and its here! The interview was conducted over cyberspace recently, and answers questions many of us have been asking....

Part 1 is up this week. I'll finish it off next week.

Also, Living Colour Super Hits has been released. More info to follow.

Plus, if you want to see Chocolate Genius, Vernon's new project, he'll be at The Knitting Factory in NYC on February 4th.

And, if you live in Sydney, Aus., Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish's band AZA will be playing at The Basement next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'll be going on Wednesday!

CARL.

23 January 1998

Only 4 more days until Living Colour Super Hits is released by Sony! We'll compare the content with what the fans voted were Living Colour's best songs from the internet poll late last year. Should be interesting...

Also, last Friday Vernon's new project Chocolate Genius opened for Ween. Hope to have more info soon.

Plus, many fans have been writing into the site about trading Living Colour music, so I've decided to set up a trading system. If anyone's after anything in particular, write in to me, and tell me what you've got to trade. I'll then direct everyone around.

I've also updated the lyrics page.

peace...CARL

xHi All. I've updated the lyrics page to include lyrics from Biscuits and also the Pride Bonus Disc. I'm still missing a few lyrics, so if you've got them, write in!

Also, I've got a couple of good articles, one a Living Colour History and the other a Stain article with interviews with Living Colour on the songs.

Plus, Piergiovanni has provided some great pictures which he is selling. The pictures are on the site here. You can contact him at: piergio@computermax.it.

CARL.

I've made a lyrics page for the site. It contains lyrics from the Living Colour albums Vivid, Time's Up and Stain. I'll add to the page soon.

Plus, I've got something BIG to put on the site really soon; a great way to kick in the new year! Just like the new year, when it arrives you'll know it's here. So if you're going away for the break, just remember to check out the site in about 2 weeks time. Guaranteed to jam.

Remember to scroll down for more of the recent news and events!

CARL.

I've got some new pictures for the site, plus enhanced old picures thanks to Stefano. And, there's more on the way!

Here they are:

I've also tried to fix the text version of the discography. What am I missing ???

CARL.

Well, this week marks the first award this website's won; totally awesome site of the day from 80s.com. Click here to see its entry. Thanks 80s.com !

And, finally the results of the Poll are up. The top Living Colour song has been announced by LC fans on the web. I've also made a comparison with the top 20 songs voted and Pride, supposedly their Greatest Hits.

Plus the best track from Mistaken Identity is announced; this track came out easily at number 1!

So click here to get the final results.

Once again, thanks to all that voted; it was great hearing from everyone. Maybe all this strirring will create funny vibes in LC circles!

Also, Sampo Vesa has given us a link to a live MP3 of Vernon on his site. Here it is: Slow Moving Target.MP3

I've also got some new pics. They'll be up real soon.

CARL.

Firstly, everyone that's voted, thank you!

If you haven't yet, click here . This will decide What is the Best Living Colour Song, plus other questions. I've changed the method of entry to drop down lists, so you can fill in the form quickly and without having to remember things or type anything in!

The latest results are up here.

I'll keep the poll going until next weekend, then get the final results up.

PLUS, for all the Living Colour fans out there, in an attempt to keep the spirit of the greatest band ever alive, myself and Sam from Sam's Living Colour Site have developed a Corey Glover Website. It's was just created recently but will hopefully grow over time.

And don't forget these articles too.

Good new Article.

I'm be doing maintenance on the site the next few weeks so if you've got anything to add or anything isn't working or you'd like to see more let me know.

Vernon's tour continues and we'll keep the info coming. A review of Vernon in Tampere will be up soon and if anyone has more to say, write in!

Here's a new article in the meanwhile.

CARL

31 October 1997

Well, last heard is that Vernon was in Rome on the 28th of October.
Vernon says the tour's going great, and he's "having a blast"! He'll be back in the US on November 11.

For more info on the tour, click here.

And for those of you without frame-enabled browsers, you can now navigate through this site via the Site Map.

Carl.

I'm sure you're all wondering how Vernon's tour around Europe's been going (unless you're lucky enough to see him live). I'll have reviews about his tour soon. If you do live in Europe, remember the Tour Dates section. The latest addition's from the Tampere Jazz festival in Finland.

I'll be making the links section more complete soon by adding cool semi-related links to the site.

I've put up a picture index to help you through that growing archive of vernon pics. It's not totally complete yet.

The Tour Dates Section is now up.
Info as it comes in.

The Discography Section is still striving to become more and more complete.

Here's a link to the Starr Labs page. Vernon may be getting a double neck similar to the Z-2 for his European tour. Right Tom?

Thanks to Suzanne Cratin from The Knitting Factory, we know that Vernon will be performing on 22 September as part of Digital Slam.
For more info, click
here.

Also, there's a couple of more articles and interviews on Vernon in the usual area.

Plus, there's now a jamming new Discography Section.

Carl.

Quote:

"Anything that smacks of freedom is seen as dangerous. That's why they want to destroy the Internet, that's why they want to be able to go in and look at your bookmarks so they can see what you've been pointing and clicking on. Anything that deals with freedom of spirit is very disturbing because freedom breeds anarchy in the minds of those who are trying to hold on to power."
