Disco stories

I am 42 and I was the biggest Disco freak alive!! I wore the nice tight white bellbottoms with the glittering halter and my favorite 8 1/2 inch platforms that very bright orange. My room was done with red valour and strobe lights and a mini disco ball. I can't forget about my white shaggin' rug. I was a typical Saturday Night Fever type of girl. Sleeping around and shooting up. Unfortun- ately I was not that good of a dancer but guys like me because I was big breasted and easy. My parents wanted to kill me the night they found me a 16 year old in bed with a 30 year old. Oops! I had fun reliving some of my past I'll come back later with more intense stories.

Hi! I'm 13 and disco is my life! It's the best thing that ever happened! Everyone in my school thinks that I'm a lunatic because I love disco so much and I didn't live in the seventies. Soon I'm going to get a disco ball and my mom just ordered me that "PURE DISCO" cd.
When I went to a sock hop in 74, I had the funkiest time of my life. I was the king of the floor. Until my polyiester pants ripped then I was the laughing stock of the floor

This is from: Frida
My name is Frida, and I am a seventy-year-old disco queen. I have been listening to the groovin tunes of disco before a lot of you whipper-snappers were even born. I named my 14 cats after my favorite disco artists, like Gloria (after Gloria Gaynor), Anita (Anita "Ring My Bell" Ward), K.C. (K.C. & The Sunshine Band), Alicia Bridges...you get the picture. I first starting listening to disco when my late husband Harold took me to Studio 54 in '77. Sometimes my cats talk to me and tell me which songs they want to hear. I put in whatever 8-track they want me to. You should see my one cat, Tavares, do the Hustle!
I just got this from: erica
Has anyone ever considered that the world would be a much nicer place if more Abba was played?
I just got this dream idea from: Margo
I just want everyone out there to know-- all of you disco fans-- that I am going to be responsible for the comeback of the nightlife.... "But how, Margo?" You are probably asking. Well, it is simple. I will be a disco diva for the 21st century. I will revive the ultra-glam, ultra music with a futuristic twist. But above all else, I will be a star-- singing my songs the way they should be sung, being incredibly fabulous and fabu-loud, and

From: Tobias Wallat
Hi, I'm a huge disco-freak from Germany. Although I was born in '77 - when many of the disco-stars had already faded - I think the 70's were the best years concerning music. Each day a big hit !!! I often go to revival partys (we've got a lot of them here in Berlin) and I noticed many people (even in my age) who really like that stuff. You just have to look at their faces - how happy and relaxed they are!!! Such good vibrations you don't find in an ordinary disco! Some people should think about it...

I was a college student in NYC during the late seventies. Being African American puts a different twist on disco. Yeah I did Studio 54 and XENON, but no one knows that clubs like the PARASIDE GARAGE gave one the truest sense of what disco was all about.
This just in from:Amy
We can have world peace!! How? you may ask. Simplely through the magic of DISCO!!!! I believe in miracles(you sexy thing). DO YOU?????
This is a good one from:AYE-Dee
It was just another Saturday night, I was eighteen, Dave was the man and we were cruising another circle around the dance floor at our favorite club on Mercer Island. Where I come from the guys never asked the girls to dance, if you were good out there on the floor it was noticed and before the end of the next song a honey was usually draggin' you out under the lights. So all the eligible stallions usually cruised the perimeter, on parade while the ladies enjoyed the show. The ones with the most nerves would try to hook up with their man when their song finally hit on the system. That was the scene as Dave and I cruised side by side, Trevolta like in sway and attitude, on the horizon were two honey's that had given us the eye two passes earlier, we knew they were just waiting for their song to hit. As if on cue the song broke out over the speakers, it had been a hit all summer long and every girl had to get on the floor. I could see it in their eyes, they were looking for us and we were bearing right down in they're direction like two missiles on target. We locked on, they saw us, they were already of their bar stools and waiting for us to escort them out into the lights. Just then I felt my foot slam against something hard, protruding from the floor, the next second, boom out go the lights, literally. Everything died, music lights, nothing but silence. I was in a total panic, when the realization of what had just occurred finally stabbed into my brain. All night we had been hopping over wiring, carefully duct taped to the carpeted floor like so much spaghetti. I had yanked the plug.
Thanks:Derek

This is from:Antonio Marchina
I was a DJ in Sao Paulo Brazil in 1978. I worked at the " Banana Power" discotec, and all began when I was 20 and in my birthday, I was already sleeping and some of my friends came and woke me up to go to disco. The party was terrific!! Since them I became a DJ working days and nights... But I became a Mechanical Engineer too, with 20 kg more and 40 years old, and now, I shake only in my car, listening to : DiscoInferno, Car Wash, Dance and Shake your Tambourine, etc, etc. Is this Life? I wanna go back to my previous life and be a DJ again! Regards and Get down on It!
A funking good one from:Merlin
For years I wandered aimlessly from music genre to music genre. Until that is I discovered DISCO!!! Growing up in the 70s (Iwas born in 1971) I think the music must have entered my sunconsciousness only to emerge 20 years later. I love disco and always will now. My all time faves are 'Fantasy' by Earth, Wind and Fire, 'Can You Feel It' by The Jacksons and 'Stomp' by the Brothers Johnson. Long live DISCO!!!!!
A cry for help from:KEN TOPHAM

well i havent been lucky enouph to say may story actually took place in the seventies because i wasnt even born then but i love disco so much and have such an infatuaion with it that once during a lip synching contest i convinced my best freind to join me in the contest doing a song i made used the best song such as staying alive doing a little dance and u should be dancing. well needless to say we didnt win first place the jackson 5 wannabes took that but we had so much audience participation we coulndnt even heard the music. and we we then know at our hs as the dico sisters. many people think i have a problem being that i wasnt even alive to live those disco days but i m sorry i think its a healthy obsession i try to get my freinds to join the fun dance to some of my begges records or my prized original saturday night fever vinal sound track but its no use. my freind thinks im a lune cause i actually search the web for disco sights like these and have come up with a few great ones listed at my site. peace and stay alive.

Maybe some people don't know, that disco is still alive, and it's still alive in Russia. In city of Kazan (i think, you don't even know where it's situated) there's a strong disco movement, who's first public action was the "D.I.S.C.O. party"(12.12.98). Wonderful disco music and a lot of disco-people, prooved that disco is "strong enough" even in Russia.

Im not old enough to really have any Disco stories, because it kind of died when I was just growing up, but since I've been able to really like music I've liked Disco. Every day when I wake up I but on some Donna Summer, or The Trammps or Tavares, and I've made myselfe two goals in life either to bring back the Disco life style or re-open Studio 54, and dont worry Im gonna do one or the other!

This kid is so Dicso: Disco Mouse,
Hey, I love disco although I'm only 13 and I have the best disco story and it's true here it is: At one of my really great friend's bat mitzvah my friend's name is gina any ways, my best friend (not gina) requested this awful 90's song("isn't it ironic") and gina and I requested the whole Saturday night Fever soundtrack so since it was gina's bat mitzvah they bumped "isn't it Ironic" for Saturday night Fever and then my friends started to chant for me to Disco so I did! It was so fun!!! everyone started to disco and it was really fun!

Disco teen Eric knows who to FUNK it up:
(Story) My name is Eric and I'm 15. I'm radically into disco and nothing stops me. If I'm at a dance, I request songs like Stayin' Alive and stuff. And at first nobody will dance to it, but if everyone sees me doing it, just because of who I am they get into the groove. I love it. I am the epitimy of the 70's. Now everybody get down....!
