Heep Song Of The Week

Blood Red Roses
(Pete Goalby, from Raging Silence, 1989)

Heaven's above
What on earth has this come to
What have I done
What can I do now to show you
There's still a chance
If you're ready to make up
It's not too late
'Cause I'm not ready to break up
I try to call
But you don't hear at all

I'm sending roses
I'm sending blood red roses
This burning in my heart
Is tearing me apart
I'm sending roses
I'm sending blood red roses

You've got to understand
That's my heart in your hand

Don't walk away
We can get this heart mended
Or am I the fool
And has this love just ended I tried to call
But you don't hear at all

I gotta keep on trying
To stop this love from dying

You've got to understand
That my heart is in your hand

Roses
I'm sending blood red roses
This burning in my heart
Is tearing me apart
I'm sending roses
I'm sending blood red roses

Roses
I'm sending blood red roses
This burning in my heart
Tears me apart
Roses - blood red roses
You've got to understand
That's my heart in your hand
Roses
I'm sending blood red roses
'Cause this burning in my heart
Tears me apart

A Heep Suggestion

What do you think about Heep doing an unplugged concert/album?

Here's an idea for a cover

On my list it probably will top Clapton's. So, if someone speaks to Mick and Co. , tell them that we want it!!!

Mick's Opinion

Regarding the unplugged although it is an interesting
idea it is also one that has been done
by everyone and is a bit of a tired format.

Mick Box, Feb.16, 1997

My Opinion

I do not agree with Mick on this one.
Isn't hard rock something "that has been done by everyone"?
And for that matter, isn't any kind of music "a bit of a tired format"?
Personally, I think that there are a lot of Heep songs
that will sound great unplugged.
It certainly will be welcomed by Heep fans,
and I think it also will give a general boost to the band.

If you have an opinion on this matter, please send it to Heep Unplugged and maybe it will have some influence.

I'm not of a collector's type, I'm there only for the music, and I didn't really had access to a Heep related material. So, I don't really have any Heep relics, for me to scan and place on the site. The posters and pictures from my teenage years are long gone, along with the long hair, and the jeans jacket with URIAH HEEP, embroided on it with metal rivets, was given away to a friend's son. Maybe, one day I'll borrow it, make a picture and scan it, but for now, this site contains only my 'umble thoughts.
