Roland's World Masthead

It's art! Really, it is!

Because no one in particular demanded it, I am now opening Ye Olde Graphics Vault and returning to the light of day those pics that may have been thought lost forever, or something like that. And you want thumbnails?!? My name is not actually Roland Foxx, but it's most certainly not Kal-El. Take your picture links and like it, at least I had the decency to subdivide them into groups (sets, I call them) and provide a brief description of each. I didn't have to do that, you know...

The Original Roland's World Set

Behold, at long last the original pics from the very first Roland's World, returned to their rightful place among the Patheon of the Elders!

Rolworld.jpg The very first title graphic to Roland's World. This was the very first thing I did when I changed from Roland's Home Page of Stuff to Roland's World. Look on it and wonder, mortals...
Spire.jpg The very first Spire pic. There have been 3 incarnations of the Sprie since this time, and a couple of variations, and that's not counting if you use the animated spire and spire icon that are floating around on this page. All that started with this pic.
Empre.jpg My very first Music section as Roland's World was Empire Records. Here is the pic. I decline to comment about its quality or what not.
Com.jpg The predecessor of the Address Book (now gone) was the Communications Tower. Here is its pic, and it stands as evidence as to how far I've really come graphics-wise since then. So don't make fun of it, or I'll have to get violent.
Transit.jpg Most people agree that this was the most impressive of the original pics. In fact, I've actually received requests to put this back on the World. The answer is still "No," but now you can check it out once again. This is the Transit Center, the original pic for my links to other places.

The Roland's World 2 Set
The second incarnation of Roland's World (which I refer to as Roland's World 2 here, not to be confused with any other Roland's World 2s which might pop up) never really saw the light of day, mostly because I set goals that, at the moment, were far beyond my ability to reach. These early goals have been surpassed easily by now, but that's not the point. Here I present the pics from Roland's World 2, some of which never saw the light of day...until now.

Spire2.jpg The second picture of the Spire and, you will find, the first picture of the theme of the pics, that blue-white star.
Newlogo.jpg This was, as you might have guessed, the new logo that I was going to use for Roland's World. Well, it got used once, put away, and I never really looked at it again. Whoops.
Newworld.jpg This was a part of the title graphic that I was going to use. As you can see, it was actually a kinda simple design, and never really looked right, which is one of the reasons why I never used it.
Rolworld2.jpg The other part of the title graphic that I was working on. Try and imagine them together and you understand why I decided not to use them...
Blastoff.jpg The most impressive picture of the second set, this was to be the pic for the Links section of Roland's World 2. It never, ever made it. Until now. Maybe I can find another use for this pic, but for right now here it is. This is the first appearance of the Skimmer/SkyBase in Roland's World, after I stole it from another project of mine, known as SkyFire, which you can see the pics for later on.

What? No Roland's World 3 Pics??
Yep, that's right. None. Why? Well, for one, this is supposed to be an archive of the older pics, and since Roland's World 3 is the last incarnation, it hardly counts as old, yet. Despite the fact that it's taken about a month and a half (at least) to create Roland's World 4 (this one), the other one's been up all that time. For two, Roland's World 3 didn't really use all that many pics. For three, I'm beginning to run low on disk space, and I want to make sure that all the other stuff gets its moment in the limelight. For four, I'm just too damn lazy, OK?!? So get over it and lets get on with our lives, OK?

The Skyfire Set
SkyFire was an attempt by me to create an ongoing cybernovel, built by those willing to contribute to the various stories that could be going on at once. I made several pics in the hopes of bringing the world of SkyFire, where futuristic technology in robotics, weaponry, medicine, etc, combined with the culture of the 1920s and people lived in gigantic zeppelins suspended far above a damaged Earth. This is the very first appearance of the SkyBase/Skimmer that later was used in Roland's Worlds 2 and 3, and was actually made a seperate Realm of Roland's World 4.

Ascent.jpg A picture of the Day of Ascension, featuring a SkyBase leaving the ground, forever.
Skybase.jpg The very first picture of the Skybase, which would later become the Skimmer on Roland's World and a Realm unto itself...
Boom.jpg Skybase go Boom...a Skybase beginning its long, slow burn into destruction.
Skylogo.jpg The original logo for SkyFire...too bad it never got off the ground, as it were...

The Miscellaneous Set
Not all of my stuff was specifically done for 'Web pages or stories or anything else. Sometimes, I did stuff just for my own delight and edification, or sometimes just to prove to myself or others that I could. So, her are all the pics that never really fit in, were designed for pages that never got started, or other various and sundry affairs.

Bruin.jpg A picture of the Bruin, the mascot for my old high school, Central Hardin
Bug2.jpg Just a bug wearing a top hot. I did it because I wanted to.
Centlogo.jpg The logo for the 'Web page for my high school.
Crucifix.jpg A crucifix I did for a friend of mine's 'Web page. He never did get around to using it...
Rec.jpg I have absolutely no idea what I was thinking when I did this...
Shroom3.jpg An odd picture of a glowing mushroom...or something like that...
Spirealt.jpg An alternate shot of the Spire that I never really found a way to use...
Rfoxx.jpg A picture of the Roland Foxx that runs around Yahoo. This isn't a self-portrait or a pic of the original Roland, and it's freaking huge. I'll shrink it soon.

Graphics disorder brought to you by someone with far too much time on his hands, specifically one Roland Foxx. Oh, and lots of colorful blessings heaped upon the doorsteps of those nifty folks at Geocities. See them about getting your own free homepage and e-mail.
