History

1983 - Pantera formed by Dimebag Darrell, Vinnie Paul Darrell, Terrence Lee and Rex Brown. Pantera's first independent album "Metal Magic" is released.
1984 - Pantera's second independent album "Project In The Jungle" is released.
1985 - Pantera's third independent album "I Am The Night" is released.
1988 - Phil Anselmo joins Pantera. "Power Metal" is released.
1990 - Pantera signs with EastWest/Atlantic. "Cowboys From Hell" is released.
1991 - "Cowboys From Hell" long form video is released. Pantera performs at "Monsters of Rock" festival in Moscow.
1992 - "Vulgar Display Of Power" is released. "Mouth For War" becomes the first metal single to debut at #1.
1993 - Pantera's first headline tour of U.K.
1994 - "Far Beyond Driven" is released. It debuts at #1 on both U.S. and Australian charts. Pantera's world tour begins.
1996 - "The Great Southern Trendkill" is released.
1997 - Pantera releases their first live album "Official Live: 101 Proof". Contains 12 live tracks and 2 new studio tracks: I Can't Hide and Where You Come From.
1997 - Pantera 3: Watch It Go is released.
1997 - Pantera co-headlines Ozzfest '97 with Ozzy, Black Sabath, Fear Factory, Marilyn Manson and Type O Negative.
July 1, 1997 - Pantera plays first show in Anchorage, Alaska.
1997 - Pantera is nominated for Best Metal Performance Grammy for Cemetery Gates from Official Live: 101 Proof. Unfortunatly Tool wins.
1998 - Pantera starts `98 with another small US tour. They will also to tour Europe and South America.
