CAST:
* RADIO D.J.- David Alan Scott Jr. (same as 1996 production)
* BEV- Ann Milliken Reidy
* ROOTIE- Shannon Molloy (same as 1996 production)
PLOT: When music star Elvis Presely's Graceland mansion is opened to tourists, Bev (Ann Reidy) struggles with Rootie (Shannon Molloy) to see who'll be the first tourist to enter the building. A one-act comedy/drama.
HISTORY: When the Fall '96 production of this play was being
put together, Clare got me to record my voice as a D.J. announcement
for the opening of the play. The recording (mixed in with excerpts
of Elvis songs) was used for all three performances of that production.
Ten months later, the same recording is being used for a new
version, using half of the same actors from the previous one.
This new "Graceland" was part of a newly-created summer festival
called REVELS, a series of various plays performed from
mid-July to mid-August.
The summer production of this play gave a total of eight
performances. Adding that to the three from the previous year,
"Graceland" will now be the play that I've performed in more times
than any other--and I never even had to be onstage!
Though not onstage, I did attend the July 20 performance.
Though my name wasn't listed in the summer program, it was mentioned
in the pre-show announcement at the beginning of the show.
Since "Graceland" was being redone, it only made sense to bring back...
