Tattoo
Cover [colour] me, cover [colour] me.
When you're sitting all alone in the middle of the floor,
There's something uncontrollable,
You sit there watching the door,
Cover me, cover me.
Cover me, cover me.
already feelin' tied to your bad side [Already feel ill,
Tattoo you're bad side]
Slap your thigh,
Slap your mouth [calf],
Sing your mantra,
Do [leave] your walk,
Cover me, cover me.
Cover me, cover me.
Something fits along my spine,
Just givin' lovin' from behind,
Fortify my arms (x2)
Cover me, cover me.
Cover me, cover me.
Poems
I confide to anything [I can vow [vibe] to anything]
So I have to hide from everything.
Everybody wants a piece of me.
You see origin and cease to be.
Sit back and let it happen,
Let us take your time away.
I don't understand you.
I don't want your time of day.
If you're gonna walk, might as well walk your way,
Always up the hallways,
Forget the punk, I pack the funk.
I'm gonna take a piece of you.
Making money for good health, but first I learn to see myself (x2)
You've promised me poems (x3)
I rue the day that I ever met you,
And deeply regret you getting close to me.
I cannot wait to deeply neglect you,
Deeply forget you, Jesus believe me,
You promised me poems.
You might have been my reason for livin'
I gave up on givin', gave up everything.
We were a right pair of believers
A couple of dreamers, so how come
You hate me?
You promised me poems (x4).
Dreamed of ringing voices, [Note: a possible allusion to Zora Neale
Huston's Their Eyes Were Watching God]
And contemplated choices.
Taste like a fresh kiss,
To heighten my awareness.
With all fairness, greatness, with gratitude.
And simply rhymes with gratitude
Now do promotion and TV, and ya still can't see. We
Down the hill cascade
And keep away the masquerade,
Dreamed of ringing voices,
And you promised me poems (x4).
Together Now
Into the morning
Got me through the night
I've seen the light
I see the light
I love of what I need
I've got greed
I've been a sinner for as long as I know
So help me understand
The little that I know
Shadow dancing with my spirit
Got to face your demon on your own
Take my body and put it through the dust
I've been buried in the crust
Together now
So help me understand
The little that I know
Together now, together now
It's us now, It's us now
And there's them, and there's them
And should we start again
Together now, together now
It's us now, it's us now...
The descendants of Christ
And it's you
Will you help me I'm confused
What you gonna do
With the little that I know
With the little that I got
We're together now, we're together
It's us now
And there's them, and there's them
And should we start again
Together now, together now
It's us now, it's us now...
Keep Your Mouth Shut
(And if the honeys think I'm stuck up,
I tell 'em shut the fuck up.)
All that she meant was good,
All that she meant was good.
Give her some time,
Give her some room.
All that she meant was good.
Better keep your mouth shut, babe,
Next to your chest,
Better keep your mouth closed baby,
And keep it close to your chest,
Better keep your mouth closed baby
Keep it close to your chest.
All that she meant was good.
(Not goin down that road)
All that she meant was good.
Give her some time, give her some space.
All that she meant was good.
How she reacted was right.
Mother I'm hungry, mother I'm hungry.
Father will you feed me (x2)
Mother I'm hungry, father will you feed me. (x3)
How you reacted was right.
Not goin' down that road (repeat).
Mother I'm hungry, father will you feed me?
Best to keep your mouth shut, baby,
And keep it close to your chest.
I Be The Prophet
I can't relax I need to meditate.
Yeah, I'll make 'em wait. (x2)
Time moves in numbers,
I count the summers, direct the drummers.
Tell me you don't feel nothing,
Would you like to ride on my train, or
Would you like to drink from my vein?
My vibe's just a (fuckin') feeling.
I see the ceiling.
And adjust to such a feeling.
I be the prophet, slay me then we'll cross it.

Black Coffee
Move over, move over, yeah you heard what I said, move over.
I feel so lonely, haven't slept a wink.
I walk the floor, and watch the door.
And in between I drink black coffee.
Love's a hand-me-down brew.
I never know why Sunday in this weekday brew?
I'm talking to the shadows, 1 o'clock till 4
And Lord how slow the moments go.
All I do is pour black coffee.
Since the blues caught my eye,
I'm hanging out on Monday,
But sunday dreams too dry
They say a man is born to go alone
And a woman is born to weep and fret
To stay at home and drown her past regrets
In coffee and cigarettes.
And moody all the morning, moody all night.
And in between I drink black coffee.
Black coffee.
Bubbles
The first hundred years are the toughest
On this bubble
An open sky, flying high
Take a bride, get some trouble
The first one will do
I'm just passing thru
The second one needs more
I've been here before
I've been here before
I've been here before
Springtime falls, summer calls
You slip and slide until you hit December
Believe my eyes, they'll bleed you dry
With the words that you choose
I'd lose my temper
The first one will do
Just passing thru
The second one needs more
I've been here before
I've been here before
Wanna make me weak while you cry
Not such a thing, till you die
Gotta go I get high
Gotta go I get high
Deceiver deceived us
And I deceived them
Carry my troubles home
Married with the humble
[TH]
The first hundred years are the toughest
I'm getting smouthred
Life is just one bloody thing
After another
I Sing For You
We're the only ones here so speak your mind,
I feed your appetite, so you feed mine.
I sing for you, so you can find your way home.
There's nothing to fear but fear itself,
If you know how to look inside yourself.
I sing for you.
Forget all you learned from yesterday,
If you learn how to change, you'll change today.
I sing for you, so you can find your way home.
I pray for you.
And I breathe aside my impurities,
But I can't take your insecurities.
If you trust, then trust me now.
Can you trust?
Round and round together, round and round forever.
Pray for me, pray for me so I can find my way home.
Leave me now, so I can be alone.
Can you be alone?
Yoga

Don't hold me, don't fuck with me.
Just do it.

Don't hold me down, don't fuck with me.
I can want it.
ooooh.
(x2)
Oooooh.
Just do it, don't forbid me.
Don't hold me down, I'm jumping.
Judas
Is simplicity the best
Or simply the easiest
The narrowest path
Is always the holiest
So walk on barefoot for me
Suffer some misery
If you want my love
If you want my love
Man will survive
The harshest conditions
And stay alive
Through difficult decisions
So make up your mind for me
Walk the line for me
If you want my love
If you want my love
Idle talk
And hollow promises
Cheating Judases
Doubting Thomases
Don't just stand there and shout it
Do something about it
You can fulfill
Your wildest ambitions
And I'm sure you will
Lose your inhibitions
So open yourself for me
Risk your health for me
If you want my love
If you want my love
If you want my love
If you want my love
Children's Story
Once upon a time not long ago,
when people wore pajamas and lived life slow,
When laws were stern and justice stood,
and people were behavin' like they ought ta good,
There lived a lil' boy who was misled,
by another little boy and this is what he said:
"Me & you tonight are gonna make some cash,
robbin' old folks and makin' tha dash",
They did the job, money came with ease,
but one couldn't stop, it's like he had a disease,
He robbed another and another and a sista and her brotha,
tried to rob a man who was a duty undercover,
The cop grabbed his arm, he started acting erratic,
he said "Keep still, boy, no need for static",
Punched him in his belly and he gave him a slap,
but little did he know the little boy was strapped,
The kid pulled out a gun, he said "WhyÕd ya hit me ?",
the barrel was set straight for the cop's kidney,
The cop got scared, the kid, he starts to figure,
"I'll do years if I pull this trigger",
So he cold dashed and ran around the block,
cop radioes it to another lady cop,
He ran by a tree, there he saw this sister,
a shot for the head, he shot back but he missed her,
Looked around good and from expectations,
so he decided he'd head for the subway stations,
But she was coming and he made a left,
he was runnin' top speed till he was outta breath,
Knocked an old man down and swore he killed him,
then he made his move to an abandoned building,
Ran up the stairs up to the top floor,
opened up the door there, guess who he saw?,
Dave the dope fiend shootin' dope,
who don't know the meaning of water nor soap,
He said "I need bullets, hurry up, run!"
the dope fiend brought back a spanking shotgun,
He went outside but there was cops all over,
then he dipped into a car, a stolen Nova,
Raced up the block doing 83,
crashed into a tree near a university,
Escaped alive though the car was battered,
rat-a-tat-tatted and all the cops scattered,
Ran out of bullets and still had static,
grabbed a pregnant lady, got out the automatic,
Pointed at her head and he said the gun was full o' lead,
he told the cops "Back off or honey here's dead",
Deep in his heart he knew he was wrong,
so he let the lady go and he starts to run on,
Sirens sounded, he seemed astounded,
before long the little boy got surrounded,
He dropped the gun, so went the glory,
and this is the way I must end this story,
He was only seventeen, in a madman's dream,
the cops shot the kid, I still hear him scream,
This ain't funny so don't ya dare laugh,
just another case 'bout the wrong path,
Straight 'n narrow or your soul gets cashed.
