December 25, 1997 Lost
E-mail On December 17, 1997AD my e-mail program committed suicide--it corrupted itself, crashed horribly and took out all my e-mail files with it. In other words, every piece of e-mail I had received & sent since May 3, 1997, along with my personal address book, is now gone--erased--and it's not recoverable. So I'm asking for your help, once again. If you've ever sent me any mail--contribubuting lyrics or pictures, setting up a trade, commenting about the site, giving me other Mazzy info, whatever--well, that's all gone. Any responses I sent back to you were destroyed, too and I have no record of your names or email addresses either because the address book also went down. (And amazingly enough, this was the second time this happened--all my e-mail files had been erased back in September, too. It's a long story.) I feel especially bad because I won't be able to thank and give credit to all of you who have helped me out. (I have incorporated some of your contributions into the coming updates, but I didn't transfer any names to the credits sections yet, so your names are lost to me.) And I also really appreciated all the nice comments--I saved them all--they are what make the site worth doing. And I had planned on using some of your messages (about the band, mostly) on an upcoming comments page. But they're now all vapor. So I'm asking you to take a few minutes and do me a great favor. You will receive nothing for your time except my gratitude. If you could, please take a look through your e-mail program and find any messages you've sent to me between May 3 and December 17 (look in the "Sent" folder or Outbox?) and any I've sent to you (in the Inbox) and re-send them to me. If your program is capable of sorting your messages by "To" and "From" it makes it a lot easier. Any messages you sent to me will be
marked "To:" The messages I've sent to you will
"From:" This is really annoying for a number of reasons. I was in the middle of a few trades. And a lot of people had sent me stuff for the site & I won't be able to credit them. And, there was an accumulation of messages I hadn't responded to at all. Plus, I just like keeping good records of things. I do respond to all my e-mail ( It may take a while, but I do) so it really annoys me that I now cannot. People from far-flung places such as Spain, Bermuda, Finland and Iowa have taken the time to write me and I can't respond. Some of the people, whose names I remember, I'd like to hear from: Mike Small If you find anything, and want to
re-send any files to me, please use this address: mazzyme@mailexcite.com Thanks. Thomas |
