Jill in Wonderland
--
written by Allan
Well, on Saturday February 9, I took Jill out to a romantic
dinner at the Macaroni
Grill. Those of you that know me, know that I'm not a
drinker, and Jill really isn't either. Anyway, on this special
occasion we made an exception and ordered a bottle of wine
with dinner.
After the wine was brought to the table, I figured that I
had a little time before they brought out our appetizer, so
I pulled out of my pocket, what "appeared" to be a Hershey's
Special Dark miniature chocolate that had a tag on it that
said "Eat me" (like in Alice in Wonderland). Jill looking
slightly confused decided to play along and opened the chocolate.
Once opened, she found herself looking at a piece of styrofoam cut in
the shape of a chocolate with a sticker on the back that said "Open me."
She pulled back the sticker, and suddenly stopped for a moment staring
almost in shock at what she was looking at.
In the styrofoam I had etched out a hole in the shape of a ring. She
pulled the ring out, and looked at me. When she did, she saw an index
card in front of me that said "Marry me."
At this, Jill jumped up from the table and practically knocked me out
of my chair repeating, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" and kissing me a lot.
Of course it turned out that this wasn't the only surprise
of the evening. Apparently my boss and a co-worker had called
ahead, and covered dinner for us, so that was a pleasant surprise
at the end of a perfect meal. Thank you Harold and Monica,
we really appreciate your kindness.
