PUNK ROCK

Alright, this page has sucked for a year now.  (it's taken me a year to finally do something about it, imagine that!)  I am now working at Epitaph and Im having a hell of a lot of fun.  My life is getting better and better by the minute-for sure better than yours eh! hahaah...:)

View the Strung Out Twisted Misters article.

Strung Out emerged in 1992 from Ventura County with its own sound of melodic overtones and harcore riffs.  Known for their own style, they are one of the biggest bands (and a personal favorite) under the Fat Wreck Chords label.  As of late, they have been experimenting with metal sounds, leaving some unsure of what to expect next.

In short, Jake Kiley was in a band called Killswitch, Rob Ramos was in Justified Cause with Jim during the pre-Strung Out days, Jim was in Justified Cause, records & produces, and is in Pulley, and Jordan was in a band called Scared Straight, Ten Foot Pole, and is now in Pulley with Jim.

Well the boys from Strung Out are at it again, blowing away crowds of people everywhere they go.  Currently they are finishing the last leg of the Warped Tour (they are playing 15 stages of the tour).  I was able to catch them at the Irvine Meadows showing of the Warped Tour.  They rocked and made my day.

They will be playing in Southern California @ the Palace in Hollywood on August 15-see you there!

NOFX

Fat Mike-Vocals, Bass

El Hefe-Guitar

Eric Melvin-Guitar

Erik-Drums

NOFX is still, as it has always been, anti-major label dealings.  Criticizing, mocking, and attacking the people of the music industry, NOFX is still a very successful group under the Epitaph label.  NOFX is known for creating songs overflowing with sarcastic and witty lyrics.  For instance their song 'Please Play This Song on the Radio' which leaves the unaware dj playing it only to suddenly find a barrage of curse words at the end.  Well liked and much loved, NOFX is playing shows on the Warped Tour attracting crowds from all over. They were awesome when I saw them, and I'm sure you'll agree when you see them too!

Rory Koff-Drums

Chris Shiflett-Lead Guitar

Matt Riddle-Bass

NUFAN came about in 1987 in Sunnyvale, CA.  Formed by Tony Sly and Rory Koff, they were later joined by Matt Riddle and Chris Shiflett.  The band churns out strong sounding high impact tunes on its albums (of which there are like 3 on the Fat Wreck Chords label).  They are also playing a few stages on the Vans Warped Tour.

BAD RELIGION

Greg Gaffin-Vocals

Brian Baker-Lead and Rhythm Guitar

Greg Hetson-Lead and Rhythm Guitar

Jay Bentley-Bass

Bobby Schayer-Drums

Bad Religion began in 1982.  With its ups and downs, Bad Religion pulled through, paving its ways in the world of punk rock.  It released several albums under the Epitaph label and later moved on to Atlantic (a move to a major record label).

Bad Religion has been a band for about 20 years now, still performing shows and going on tours like the Warped Tour.  This year they were at the Warped Tour, performing last of all the bands on the stage which Strung Out and NOFX had played earlier in the afternoon.  As a result of being last, nearly everyone at the show came to watch.  They performed their hits from over their 20 years of music making, ending with a grand finale of Fuck Armaggedon-leaving the crowd exhausted and happy.
