euphoria

Euphoria, an Effingham, Kansas based rock band combines straight ahead hard rock music with traces of funk drumming to form a their own style of music uninhabited by the mainstream rock/alternative music today. Euphoria's music attracts a wide range of listeners who want to hear gimmick-less rock music.

The band formed in 1992 when drummer Jesse Tharp, vocalist/guitarist Erik Anderson and bass player Jeradon Myers joined together to write original songs and to play in the local clubs and bars. As the youngest rock band in eastern Kansas, the band started their metamorphosis as thirteen year olds. In 1994 Jason Pantle became a member and layered Euphoria with another guitar. A five song demo was recorded on 4-track, and though it was a very rough recording, fans bought the cassette in relentless support of the band. By the end of 1994 Euphoria had written over fifteen original songs and played, on average, a two hour set.

The winter of 1995 was an exciting time for Euphoria. They met Steve Gooding, the owner of Sixth Sense Studios in Lawrence, Kansas, thus beginning what has become a prolific recording partnership. That winter Euphoria, with Steve co-producing, recorded a five song EP, "Gone", which was released in the summer of 1995. "Gone" received radio play on KLZR 105.9, the Lazer, in Lawrence. "Don’t Save Me", "Hero", and the title track "Gone" were fan favorites, and the EP was sold out.

In 1996 Euphoria recorded again at Sixth Sense Studios, this time their plan was to release a full length album. It took two days to record "Beyond", an eleven song effort featuring "Breakaway", "Dotted Line", "Fake" and the tongue-in-cheek "Pete". The CD received great reviews, local airplay increased fan support and once again, many copies were sold.

In April 1997, Euphoria released a second full length album, "Bondage", once again teaming with Steve Gooding to produce the new CD. "Bondage" features 14 songs and is receiving airplay on stations in eastern Kansas. The band has perfected their style on this album and hopes for interest from a major label. Euphoria’s first single off their new CD, "1,000 times before", has been chosen for the soundtrack of an upcoming movie, "To the Cukoo’s Calling". And check out the infectious groove of "Floppy eared bootsy disco jam". The band members also continue to demonstrate their sense of humor on the new LP with the hidden track, "Dude". "Bondage" was featured on 98.9, the Rock's, "Unsigned" show on June 15th, 1997.
