Beatles' Guitars:

It's possibly the most famous instrument in the world! No one can play a violin shaped bass without being associated with Paul. But actually Paul doesn't have one, but two Hofners 500/1. He acquired the first in 1961 in Hamburg. This first one had both pickups put right next to the neck, and has gone through a little repair, in order to tight the pickups on their place. After Paul got the second one, it remained as a backup, but before that it was used on countless historic Beatles recordings. The second Hofner 500/1was given to Paul by Hofner UK distributor, when it began getting clear the Beatles were becoming bigger than... Ah, forget about it! Anyway, Paul got it and used it until the end of the Beatles. Then, under the good influence of Elvis Costelly, Paul got this Hofner out of the closet in 1988 for the Flowers In The Dirt album and tour, and it's again his main bass since then.

Paul and John have fun with Paul's basses.
