Valotte
On his first album, Julian makes quite a great job. The album surprised many people with its good quality, because they thought Julian wouldn't be able to do a good album. Of course he's not John, but he made na enjoyable, very well produced LP. He has even got an international hit with "Too lae for goobyes". I remember I was a kid in 1984, when the LP was released, and we could hear that beautiful song everywhere. Many people thought it was John, both because the voices were similar and because the song was fantastic. Someone, I think it was Julian himself or Sena, has said: "Many people get compliments because they sound like John Lennon. Why would his son be the exception?". A must have album. Valotte - O.K. for you - On the phone - Space - Well I don't know - Too late for goobyes - Lonely - Say you're wrong - Jesse - let me be |
Help yourself
Another cool album by Julian. I've read somehwere that George has an uncredited appearance on one of hte tracks, possiblt the beautiful ballad "Saltwater". Rebel king - Saltwater - Get a life - Would you - Maybe I was wrong - Help yourself - Listen - Other side of town - New physics rant - Take me home - Imaginary lines - Keep the people working |

Into the sun
Sean's first solo album leaves it clear that he doesn't intend to simaply follow his father's steps. The sound is much more jazzy and a bit avant-guarde. My Brazilian ears can strongly feel the good influence of bossa nova. Mystery juice - Into the sun - Home - Bathtub - One night - Spaceship - Photosynthesis - Queue - Two fine lovers - Part one of the cowboy trilogy - Wasted - Breeze - Sean's theme |
Young americans
John plays guitar and sings backing on "Fame" (Lennon - Bowie) and "Across the universe" (Lennon-McCartney). The CD itself is really nice, and shows Bowie at the peak of his creativity. The title track is outstanding. |
