When a Spanish friend offered me this on a trade, I couldn't expect THIS much! But the CD is truly excellent, and I can only wander about why no one had done this before. Los Escarabajos are a Spanish band who took John's demos we know from boot, learnt the songs, made band arrangements for them and the result is here: a collection of 12 unreleased John Lennon songs we only knew in poor quality home recordings. The restul is excellent and we keep wanting more. Some of the songs matched exxactly the way I had always dreamt about them, but some surprised me in a good way, such as "Sally and Billy". The highlight, of course, is "Now and then", the third but unreleased "Anthology Threetles track. I have always wanted to listen to it in band form. In fact I've tried to arrange itmyself a few times, but always gave up in face of the numerous difficulties. Luckily, Los Escarabajos have been more persistent, and now we have this wonderful CD to enjoy.
