Paul bought his Epiphone Texan in 1964. It's an important instrument in which he wrote, for example, "Yesterday"; it's still with Paul. The Fender Squire, in Telecaster body and sunburst finish, is rarely seen and deserves mention because has been used on "Sgt. Pepper's" sessions. Both John and Paul bought Martin D-28 acoustic guitars in 1968, which they used during the White Album sessions. The group has also worked with Ramirez classical guitar, for example, in "A hard day's night". George also used a Gibson 345 on a few occasions, and John appeared with a Gretsch 6120 in the studio in 1966. The Hootenanny guitar was used on '65 sessions. Also important, is the acoustic Gibsons J-200 both George and John are seen playing on the "Let it be" sessions, and the Fender Jazz Bass they used on some of their final recordings. |
