Ringo's first solo album was released in 1970. It cointained standarts of american popular music like Night and day, Stardust and Love is a many splendoured thing. To produce the recordings and arrengements, Ringo brought such people as George Martin and Paul McCartney. It's said that, during the recordings of this album, Ringo recorded a version of It don't come easy which remains unreleased. Ringo's voice fit very well in this album style, as we hear, for example, in the fantastic version of Have I told you lately that I love you?

For his second album, also released in 1970, Ringo joined the efforts of legendary names as Elvis Presley drummer D.J. Fontana and backing group The Jordanairs. The songs, specially written for the album, were perfect for Ringo's voice, and again it turned out to be a nice album. Ringo |
Ringo's 1973 release is considered by many as he first real work. Here he beggins to develop one of his trade marks: GREAT guests, great songs, party mood and a little help from his friends! All ex-Beatles have a party here. In John's I'm the greatest, the author, the host and George Harrison got together in the studio for the recording session. Klaus Voorman, an almost beatle, played bass. Paul compsed and played on several songs too. The great quality of this album made of it a 70's classic, not only for Beatles or Ringo's fans, but for every rockenroller around the world. It don't come easy, Ringo's very sucessfull single, was added as bonus track to the CD version, along with it b-side, Early 1970, and Down and out, also previously released in single.

Goodnight Vienna |
From 1974, Ringo brings another huge album, with fantastic help from lots of friends like John, Elton John, Billy Preston. Another rock'n'roll classic from the 70's. Many people don't realize it, but, acontrary to the common belief, Ringo had a very successfull career after The Beatles broke up. This record is one of the happy proofs that this belief is false. Back of boogaloo and Blindman, originally released as a single, were added as bonus tracks, along with the famous extended version of Six o'clock, with more proeminent vocals from Paul.

Blast from yur past |
This is a 1976 greatest hits compilation. It lost part of its attractions after the singles songs were released as bonus tracks on CD's, but it didn't lose its charm. Blast from your past documents a very prolific period in Ringo's career.

You're sixteen - no no song - it don't come easy - Photograph - Back of boogaloo - Only you - Beaucoups of blues - Oh my my - early 1970 - I'm the greatest
Ringo's Rotogravure |
From 1976, Ringo's rotogravurebrings their friends back, be it as writers, musicians or both of them. Paul's Pure gold, Geroge's I'll still love you and john's outstanding Cooking in the kitchen of love) help making of this a very interesting album, although obscure. Lady gaye and A dose of rock'n'roll seem to be the favourite Ringo's song of every ordinary fan I tried to introduce Ringo to. Perhaps because I love them myself.

Ringo the Fourth |
In this 1977 release, Ringo makes some experiments with disco music. Although many people didn't like this record , it showed that Ringo was not stopped in the 60's. He was following hte changes in the pop world, and he made it well. Drowning in the sea of love, Wings and Can she do it like she dances leave no doubt about this.

Bad boy |
Released in 1978. Perhaps not the best Ringo album, but yet a nice one. Heart on my sleeve, Hard times and the wonderful ballad Tonight are among this recods'attractions. It seems that in Ringo the Fourth and on tis album Ringo was looking for new ways to make a record, without the help of friends and party mood.

Stop and smell the roses |
This 1981 release had a long history before being as we known today. It began as project of getting all friends together again. John, Paul, George and others were having their part, and the record was going to be called can't fight lightning. But those december 1980 events made plans change, and the album was almost forgotten. Luckilly, it was finished in 1981. Track listing was slightly changed, and so was the cover and the title. It turned out to be one of Ringo's best albuns ever, and it gave the world a nice message of reconciliation with happiness and hope. Wake up, Red and black blues , Brandy, Stop and smell the roses (original vocal version), You can't fight lightning and Hand gun promos, previously unreleased, were added as bonus tracks for the CD version.

Old wave |
This 1983 release brought Ringo in great shape again. It became unexplicably unreleased in US until the release of the CD version, in 1994. An emblematic rock'n'roll record. Unfortunately, Ringo would spend the next seven years without releasing new recordings. As far as we can go (original version), previously unreleased, was added as bonus track for the CD version.

Starr Struck |
A 1989 greatest hits compilation and my first Ringo record ever, got as a Chrstmas gift from my father in 1990!! Although it didn't bring any new song, it was a interesting release then, specially for US market, becasue it brought songs from Old wave. Many Ringo's album couldn't be easily found on vinyl, and they hadn't been released in CD yet.

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band |
This 1990 CD documents Ringo's first american tour. He gathered a HUGE band around him, with such people as Joe Walsh, Clerence Celmons, Levon Heml, Rick Danko and Billy Preston. The result was one of the best live albums ever. A special release of this album adds a CD with Act naturally. Unfortunatelly, Clarence Clemons' You're a friend of mine was not released in any version of this album, only on the video.
