This page is devoted to trying to save time on the net looking for Tori items. I know I have spent countless hours on the net looking for that certain CD, book, or poster. Hopefully, this page will be of some help to you.
If you have any comments on any of the places I have listed, or you would like to add a site that is not in this list, please e-mail me and I will see what I can do.
These are the places that I have done shopping from on the net.
- Intergalactic Garage has a vast variety of bootleg material, as well as posters, magazines, books, etc. Their Tori site needs major updating, so I wouldn't count on the list of Tori items they purport to have to be very reliable. However, their customer service leaves much to be desired. It takes a lot of long distance phone calls to get a package delivered.
- Here has a good variety of rare Tori items, such as posters, singles, EP's, LP's, photos, boxed sets, books, interview discs, and magazines. He (Kyle) has this cool auction every month in which he auctions off rare Tori items. The service is great, but it takes a while for orders to get sent out.
- Southland CD deals only with official CD's, but they have a variety of hard-to-find ones. They are very reliable and their prices are pretty good, too. Their site's updated regularly and their customer service is good.
- Rainy Day Records has a good collection of "live imports." Their web page is temporarily down, but you can still call them at 1-800-636-6166 and you can also e-mail them at rainydayrex@mindspring.com. Their service is great and they have been one of the nicest people I have dealt with through mail-order. I highly recommend them!
- E-bay is an internet on-line auction that has many, many Tori items on sale every day by fellow Tori-philes, or others, who need to unload their items. You can usually find some good deals on bootlegs and other rarities. As a buyer, you deal with the seller. The items being sold have nothing to do with E-bay itself. You can also sell off some of your Tori collection if you like.
The following are some places that I have seen on the web, and they seem reputable. I can not comment on their service, but I have included a line or two on what they have advertised to offer.
I have also categorized them into what I perceived as the Plentiful, the Adequate, and the Limited. Of course, "Limited" is relative, because it's about quality, not quantity, right? :)
Plentiful
- 101CD is British based company but they have a variety of Tori items. You have to do that conversion from dollar to pound but sometimes that can be cheaper even with the shipping and handling, provided you are buying the European singles.
- Amazon.com has a large variety of books about Tori, as well as some CDs.
- CD Connection has a few singles, EPs, interview CDs, and such. The prices aren't horribly inflated either.
offers a nice selection of Tori items. They have been on the net for a while and I know people who buy from them regularly.
- EQS has a good selection of Tori merchandise, such as CD singles & EP's, books, songbooks, interviews discs, posters, and promo items.
- GEMM (Global Electronic Music Marketplace) is a mass search engine that brings up many different Tori items from many different music vendors. It's pretty convenient, but I haven't ordered through GEMM so I don't know how up-to-date their list is.
- Mass Music has a nice selection of CD EPs, LPs, and some singles, along with interview discs, books, and songbooks.
- Music Machine has a good selection of Tori CD singles & EPs, interview discs, vinyl, and books.
- Vinyl Tap Records has a bunch of posters and import singles to choose from.
Adequate
- CD Universe has a lot of Tori items; however, nothing exceptionally unique
- Moby Disc has a couple of Tori items. There isn't anything exceptional that you can't find anywhere else.
- Music Books carries Tori books.
- Newbury Comics Interactive has a some Tori EPs, singles, and LPs, as well as a limited selection of interview discs. Their merchandise is not unique.
Limited
- Tower Records has a very limited selection of Tori items on the net, such as EPs, LPs, and some singles, but their prices are low compared to the other places I've seen on the net.
- World Sounds has a limited selection of bootleg material. Apparently, you can request a certain CD and they will do their best to supply.
If you are looking for "live imports", or any other hard-to-find Tori item, and do not wish to deal with mail-order over the internet, I suggest browsing through a small record store in your area. I know that Los Angeles, which is where I live, has a lot of small record stores that carry these hard-to-find items. Besides small record stores, I know that a larger chain, such as Tower Records or Borders, will probably have a Tori import, book, poster, or some such item you are looking for. If you live near or in a big city, there shouldn't be any need to mail-order, because a vendor in your area probably has it.
