The top ten things you must absolutely know before joining Newville Avenue Mailing List
FAQ 1: I heard Richard Carpenter is married to his cousin. Is this true ???????
Yes it's true. He married her cousin Mary Rudolph in 1985.
FAQ 2: Who is Kenny Peters ?????
Kenny used to be a Newviller. His posts were excellent both in content and style. Leaving Newville was his own decision. Kenny, we miss you!
FAQ 3: Is Newville the list for the hearing impaired ?????
NO. It's a list with people from all over the world, and therefore, some of them are not from English speaking countries. So it's perfectly natural not to understand some lines of songs.
FAQ 4: Who is Yuko Ogura ?????
Yuko Ogura has written all the linernotes for Carpenters CD releases in Japan and also is the author of much-talked- about "Mook" which lead us to the next FAQ.
FAQ 5: What is a "Mook" ??? (or worse) Who is "Mook"????
A Mook is something between a Magazine and a Book. The Carpenters Mook was published in Japan in late 1996 and you can still purchase it from here. Although it's written in Japanese, it's definitely worth buying if only for the great never-seen-before pics. There is no possibility of a future English translation.
FAQ 6: Is Richard planning to release any Carpenters Unreleased material in the near future ?
My guess is that he is. However, it is likely to be released for the 30th Anniversary of the Carpenters, April 1999
FAQ 7: How many Carpenters compilations are there in the world ?
Pick a number between 250,000 and 500,000 and you'll have the answer !!!!!!
FAQ 8: Why were the Carpenters picked on in the past?
Because some people ARE hearing impaired...not us, though!!
FAQ 9: Did the Carpenters ever come to Argentina?
No, unfortunately they didn't. (FAQ!!)
FAQ 10: Were the Carpenters brother and sister?
No, they met in College ;-)
