Childhood History: He is the youngest of three children. He has an
older brother and sister. He started showing signs of wanting to be a
performer at the age of five. He used to constantly sing about the house (and
was often told to be quiet!). He was in school musicals throughout high
school. When he graduated he went to university to study Drama,
Journalism, and eventually Education. He met Daniel and when offered a
recording contract he had only 1 semester remaining of his Bachelor of
Education. He gave it up to be in Savage Garden.
Favourite Food: Darren is a vegetarian. He loves Thai and Italian
food. Although he is usually very healthy, he loves Baskin Robins icecream
(peanut butter and chocolate), Vanilla Chuppa Chups, Dr Pepper and Cherry
Coke (His favourite recipe? Take diet coke and ad red cordial.....Cherry
Cola!).
Favourite Movie: He is a HUGE fan of the Star Wars Trilogy. The
Empire Strikes Back is his favourite of the three. He also loves ET, The
Goonies, Aladdin, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Interview with the
Vampire.
Favourite Things:His favourite possesions are his Star Wars figures
and his computer.
Favourite Television Shows: Mad About You, Seinfeld, Friends, Ellen
and The David Letterman Show.

on-line chats with people all over the world. Sitting inside on a rainy day
watching movies. Eating popcorn in a dark cinema while watching a great

“Yes. I always wanted to be a special effects person for the Star Wars films or
a writer maybe. I saw the movie ‘Romaincing The Stone’ and loved the scene
where Kathleen Turner had her typewriter and was finishing her novel in front
of the fireplace. Seemed like a real cozy job! I started many epics that never
got finished as a child.”
