FavoritesThe question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Supersonic'?", and here are the results:
Take Me Away - 7 Take Me Away is the first ever Oasis b-side and probably one of the best Oasis songs ever. It is one of Noel's acoustic songs which he sings and plays beautifully. The other two tracks on the first Oasis single, Supersonic, are a white label demo of Columbia and a live version of I Will Believe at a gig. I Will Believe hasn't been released at a studio version and this live one is the only one there is. This question opens the way for other questions and I will ask every week about a different single. A lousy number of 11 votes this week. |
Opinion PollThe question was: "What's the most meaningful Oasis single sleeve?", and here are the results:
Live Forever - 4 There was a lot of great sleeve pictures to choose from this week but the one that overcomes the many rest is Live Forever, argueably the best Oasis song ever. The sleeve picture that you like so much is of the house in which John Lennon, a former member of the Beatles (duh...), grew up in. It's sort of a blurred black and white picture and it symbolizes how much effect the Beatles' music, and especially John Lennon's, had on Oasis. |
FavoritesThe question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Be Here Now'?", and here are the results:
All Around the World - 5 It has an incredible video, it's almost 10 (!!) minutes long, and it's a classic Oasis single! Ladies and gentlemen, All Around the World is the best song of Be Here Now according to your votes! I believe it's not only the best song off the album but the best Oasis song ever. Noel wrote it a long time ago, before Whatever, and it's got great solos and singing. At the end it's got two key changes which makes it a great song musically and the lyrics aren't bad either. Bottom line: Good choice! |
Opinion PollThe question was: "What's the most meaningful Oasis album sleeve?", and here are the results:
Be Here Now - 9 Oasis are known to have great sleeves for their albums and singles, since they are so rich and therefor can afford the best company (Microdot) and person (Brian Cannon). The Be Here Now sleeve was very talked about in the media, and deservedly. It shows the band in this yard with a pool, with many different objects all around and the members of the band doing stuff with some objects, like Noel looking on to this big globe with a telescope and Bonehead climbing out of the pool. This was sort of a better version of the Definitely Maybe sleeve which was photographed in Bonehead's house and had different stuff. |
FavoritesThe question was: "What's your favorite song from '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?'?", and here are the results:
Wonderwall - 6 This was expected. Wonderwall, a rock classic and a hit all over the world still today, deserves to be the favorite song of Oasis' second album. Everybody knows it, and it's one of the songs that made Oasis what they are today. Don't Look Back in Anger was also a big hit. By the way, both these songs were released in the US, where they won great success. This week there were 14 votes. |
Opinion PollThe question was: "Will another member of Oasis ever quit or be replaced?", and here are the results:
No - 6 I know, I know, this question sucks, but I couldn't think of anything else. If anyone has suggestions please e-mail me. Anyway, this was also expected. Most of you think that the Tony McCarrol-Alan White thingy will not repeat itself with a different band member. This seem to be the winning Oasis formula for success. Only 7 votes... |
FavoritesThe question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Definitely Maybe'?", and here are the results:
Live Forever - 7 There was a big battle between Slide Away and Live Forever which at the very end was won by Live Forever. Those are indeed the two biggest songs of Oasis' first album, along with Supersonic that surprisingly got only one vote. Live Forever was and is a huge hit all over the world and it's definitely a classic Oasis song. Too bad I only got 17 votes, the battle might have gone on. |
Opinion PollThe question was: "What music style will feature on Oasis' fourth album?", and here are the results:
Like Always (Rock) - 6 This week I was shocked at the results I got. I can't believe that people actually believe that Oasis will have a different style of music on their fourth album. They were always rock 'n' roll guitar pop and they always will be. I can't imagine Noel writing trance songs like the Backstreet Boys or heavy rock like Metallica. He even said he will get quieter with time. Only 13 people voted :-( Where is everyone!? |
