The question was: "What's your favorite song from 'D'You Know What I Mean?'?", and here are the results:

Stay Young - 12
Angel Child (Demo) - 5
Heroes - 5

After a long period of break after the last (WTS)MG? album, Don't Look Back In Anger, came the first single off the new album, Be Here Now: "D'You Know What I Mean?". Without a doubt, this single was the most anticipated one in Oasis history. Everyone was talking about it, and when it finally came out, it was sold in stores right away. The b-sides on this great single are as good as the song itself. "Stay Young", which you chose as the best b-side on this single, was picked by Oasis to be the 2nd song on the Europe tour set (after Be Here Now). The other two b-sides are an acoustic demo of "Angel Child" sung by Noel and a David Bowie cover called "Heroes", in which Noel sings as well, but it is electric.

Opinion Poll

The question was: "Which Oasis b-side gets you relaxed the most?", and here are the results:

Talk Tonight - 4
D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman? - 3
Rocking Chair - 3
Sad Song - 3
The Masterplan - 2
Half the World Away - 1
It's Better People - 1
Take Me Away - 1

B-sides are definitely the place for Noel's acoustic tracks. These get you relaxed the most, and in 1st place on that catagory is the acoustic masterpiece "Talk Tonight", one of the most famous Oasis b-sides.

The question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Don't Look Back in Anger'?", and here are the results:

Underneath the Sky - 12
Step Out - 4
Cum On Feel the Noize - 2

Like the previous single, Wonderwall, the "Don't Look Back in Anger" single was also released in the US, with only one b-side, "Cum On Feel the Noize", a cover song. Out of the three UK b-sides, "Underneath the Sky" was chosen as the best one. It is a good song, not as loud as the other two. "Step Out" is sung by Noel, and although it is very good as well, you chose Underneath the Sky over it. The single was the last one to come out during the "WTSMG?" days. There was long break before the "DYKWIM?" came out.

Opinion Poll

The question was: "Which Oasis album song gets you relaxed the most?", and here are the results:

Cast No Shadow - 7
Champagne Supernova - 6
Married With Children - 3
All Around the World (Reprise) - 2
Don't Go Away - 2
Don't Look Back in Anger - 1
Wonderwall - 1

Except for "Married With Children" you won't find one acoustic track on an Oasis album (Wonderwall is partially acoustic). But there are still a few songs that are considerably quiet, with Cast No Shadow and Champagne Supernova at the top.

Favorites

The question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Wonderwall'?", and here are the results:

The Masterplan - 15
Round Are Way - 2
The Swamp Song - 1

Although Oasis are definitely NOT a one-song band, like a lot of other bands, Wonderwall probably is their most famous. The single came out after the (WTS)MG? album did, and was a huge success. Unarguably, the best b-side there is "the Masterplan". It came in 3rd overall when the weekly favorite focused on best Oasis b-side, while "Round Are Way" and "the Swamp Song", the two other Wonderwall b-sides, never even scored points. The Masterplan's lyrics came in 1st place when the opinion poll asked about that. The Swamp Song is the only Oasis instrumental besides the reprise version of "All Around the World" and two extracts of it featured on the (WTS)MG? album.

Opinion Poll

The question was: "Which Oasis b-side gets you pumped up the most?", and here are the results:

Stay Young - 4
Cum On Feel the Noize - 3
I Am the Walrus (Live) - 3
Alive (8 Track Demo) - 1
Acquiesce - 1
Headshrinker - 1
Fade Away - 1
Heroes - 1
(I Got) the Fever - 1
Bring It On Down (Live) - 1

B-sides is the place for Noel acoustic tracks but the good-old loud rock isn't missing in them either!

May 3rd to May 9th

Favorites

The question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Roll With It'?", and here are the results:

Rocking Chair - 14
Live Forever (Live) - 3
It's Better People - 2

The Roll With It single, although it did very well, is not one of Oasis' greatest. It has two new b-sides and a live version of Live Forever at Glastonbury '95. Both "Rocking Chair" and "It's Better People" are acoustic songs; Rocking Chair, which won, isn't completely (sort of like "Wonderwall") and isn't sung by Noel. About a year back I saw on a few sites that Rocking Chair is one of Oasis' worst songs and I have to say that it's just a wonderful song. There's a very enjoyable acoustic guitar solo by Noel and Liam does an excellent vocal job. It's Better People, though, is a bit less entertaining.

Opinion Poll

The question was: "Which Oasis album song gets you pumped up the most?", and here are the results:

Supersonic - 4
D'You Know What I Mean? - 3
Bring It On Down - 2
Be Here Now - 2
Up In the Sky - 1
Cigarettes & Alcohol - 1
Roll With It - 1
Digsy's Dinner - 1
Morning Glory - 1
Slide Away - 1
I Hope, I Think, I Know - 1

There you have it, it just goes to show you how Oasis isn't a one-song band and that they have a lot of songs which spell out good loud rock!

April 26th to May 2nd

Favorites

The question was: "What's your favorite song from 'Some Might Say'?", and here are the results:

Acquiesce - 11
Talk Tonight - 10

It was a mighty battle between these two great songs but Acquiesce finally topped Talk Tonight by one vote. Acquiesce is the highly acclaimed duette that Liam and Noel sing. Noel sings the chorus. During most of the Be Here Now gigs, Oasis performed this song as an encore after all of the other songs. Talk Tonight is one of the best Noel acoustic tracks. The clapping for the beat and the backing vox are all great. Headshrinker, as expected, did not get any votes.

Opinion Poll

The question was: "Will Oasis ever release another non-album single like 'Whatever'?", and here are the results:

Yes - 10
No - 4

I admit, it was a stupid question to ask. Most of you thought that a special single like "Whatever", a song that never appeared on an Oasis album, will be released in the future. Not Whatever itself but a single like it. Personally, I can't see why Oasis would do this again. Perhaps it means more money but I'm not sure about that. What I am sure of, is that if Oasis do that again, they better have good b-sides on it like they did in Whatever, so that people will want to buy the single.
