James Webb played on "Wild Blue Yonder" and has performed live on occasion with Shane & Joe. |
Moises Padilla played on the bonus track version of "The Riddle" and he also played in Shane's old band, Mustard Seed. |
Andy Rice also played on the "mostly live" bonus track version of "The Riddle" found on the Progressive Revelation album. |
Originally, Paradigm Lost was composed primarily of two guys - Shane Matsumoto & Joe Liedtke- who had a lot of friends help as guest musicians on their album. Whenever they performed live, the band with them also varied. The two met at the Fall 1996 music studio engineering recital at Greenville College where they are both students. At the recital, each found interest in each other's projects primarily because they were the only two industrial projects displayed. (Shane's project at that recital is on the Progressive Revelation CD - the song is called "Seperate")
On January 2, 1997, Shane decided he was going
to put out an industrial metal CD of his own (initially wanting
to name the studio entity Forensic Theologian). He
immediately set out to accomplish his goal. Remembering Joe and
his project, he asked Joe to help him on a song for the CD
("Reason"). They hit it off so well, they decided to
team up as PARADIGM LOST. PARADIGM LOST's first CD was soon
created and released as Progressive Revelation. Soon, Ian
Baird, a friend of Shane's, moved to Greenville from St. Louis.
He was immediately welcomed as the third person in the PARADIGM
LOST trinity and the three soon created and released PARADIGM
LOST's second album, Human. After a long break, Joe joining The Outsiders, and Ian going solo and releasing a demo of his own, Shane is currently attending the Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Tempe, AZ and recording a third album (currently untitled). This is where Paradigm Lost stands in 2002!
Shane MatsumotoShane is the executive producer/engineer of PARADIGM LOST's recording projects. He writes most of the lyrics and drum programming. Shane is the lead vocalist, playes the sax on several tracks as well as the moog, harmonica, and various odd instruments - he basically makes a lot of noise on the albums. |

Joe LiedtkeJoe has done nearly all the keyboard and piano sounds on all the PARADIGM LOST albums. Joe contributed lyrically and vocally as well as making all the songs come alive with his fresh and creative ideas. |

Ian BairdIan did all the drums and guitars for the Human album. Ian also arranged most of the music on that CD as well as contributing vocally. |
