Text from the Rock Symphony
site The mythologic band from Rio de Janeiro, ACIDENTE returns to the scene with its first new album in six years (after Farawayers, released at Rio Art Rock 2000. Stepping a little aside the total independence point of view, ACIDENTE joined with labels Rock Symphony e Musea to take to its fans one of the best records of the year, TECHNOLORGY, simply the best thing ever done by Paulo Malária e Co. All instrumental, those who had already heard it point out great influences from Focus, ELP and other "sacred" bands. By the way, this is the most "seventieth" ACIDENTE record. ThIS ACIDENTE progressive trail started to take form when, in the late eighties Paulo Malária, the band's keyboardist and Producer, started the rehearsals for what would become their first album in this style: Break This Record, from 1990. After that, two more records were released in digital format - Gloomland (1994) and Farawayers (1996), yeat more progressive and ellaborated than the precedent. After a few years without doin any live presentations, the band returned to stage at Rio Art Rock Festival de 2000, when it played at the opening night and presented new compositions, among them a long and excellent song with more then 15 minutes long, what would become one of the many "Technolorgy" highlights, recorded and mixed between may 2001 and february 2002. Carefully produced and with the band presenting a noticed evolution, it is one of the best instrumental works ever done by a brazilian band and surely one of the best CDs recently released by Rock Symphony label. |
