The pictures on this page are my colored versions of black and white originals done by an outstanding SF/Fantasy and comic artist, Max Bertuzzi. Max is a good friend of mine, as well as a mentor. It was both a pleasure and a challenge to attempt further enhancing these already magnifescent works of art!
Goblin Slayer This was the first of Max's pictures that I colored. As with all the pictures of his that I've done, I started out with his original inking. The originals for all three of these pictures can be found Here, on his site. It took me a few weeks to paint all the details for this picture, but I think it was well worth the time and effort.
Castle Entrance I decided to do less computer "painting" for this picture. I instead used a variety of textures that clashed little with the original, and simply "colorized" the existing white space. The result was a color version of the drawing that left most of the picture unchanged. I felt it needed little enhancing other than a splash of color, since it's so perfect "as-is".
Winged Archer After finishing Castle Entrance, I decided to work on a picture that I could once again "paint". I picked one of my personal favorites from Max's gallery. This picture took less time to finish, because there is only one character and no background. They were all fun to do, and I hope to work with Max again in the future! =)
