I realized I hadn't updated this page in about two years. You'll find this site is more of a look at things from my year's past. I haven't added to it in a long time, but don't have the heart to take it down since it pretty much encapsulates my life from back in my 20's. Now I'm officially in my 30's, scary thought! Is funny because every year I'd update this page and pretty much say the same thing, the (lack of) Administration is making our country poor, tired and disenfranchised, not much has changed. So, I won't preach that route since I do enough of that on my blog. As a reader of this page, the only thing I ask of you is that you pay attention and don't have blind faith. Not in your government, not in your religion, not in the media. Be open that there may be things that go on in this world because people can be ugly. Learn about it and fight it.
Still adjusting to LAM (life after Maryland). It is hard being in Charlotte where the most famous band to come out of the "scene" is Firehouse! I miss having great DC bands, venues at my doorstep and being able to attend protests with a few minutes on the metro. My husband and I have 15+ years of going to shows under our belts. Live music is as spiritual as we get. Between us we've seen over 500 shows, everything from Operation Ivy to Eugenius, AC/DC, NATAS, to Lollapalooza 1-4, great shows like the Rollins Band/Black Flag benefit show in DC, Fugazi on many protest stages, early days of Nirvana and Jawbox, hanging out with hero's like Chuck Treece, Scott Reynolds, Ian MacKaye and Bill Stevenson. So few regrets musically, as we've seen many shows, hung with many awesome people and carried many a drum stand.
