Andy has been with King D since the beginning, and thank God he has.
King goes through alot of line-up changes, and there usually doesn't seem
to be any interruption in the flow of great metal. But if Andy left,
things might not be the same. He is hugely influenced by Barocque
era Classical music, and he incorporates it into his playing beautifully.
He wrote the title track from the "THEM" album, which isn't just an incorporation
of classical music, but an actual classical piece! There isn't one
solo by Andy that doesn't totally move me and/or kick my ass. He
may be the most melodic player I've ever heard. The "guitar players"
of the current day should be ashamed that they even attempt to play the
same instrument that Andy has total mastery over.
I guess I'd have to say that Andy is a close second to Adrian Smith,
for being my favortie guitarist and biggest influence.
