Emma Caulfield (Anya)

If you think you've seen this veteran TV actor before, you're probably right. I recognised her as Susan Keats, Brandon's girlfriend for a year on "Beverly Hills, 90210". Yes, she was a 90210--and even more surprising, she was also in "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" in 1993 and has fond memories of the show as the closest thing to live theatre she's ever done (come on, admit it--how many of you watched that as kids?) Her other TV appearances include "Weird Science," "Nash Bridges" and "General Hospital!" She loves playing wisecracking Anya on Buffy, but admits that her first episode was less fun. She had to play the demon version of Anya, Anyanka, and to go make the transformation look realistic she had to go through a four-and-a-half-hour, head-to-torso prosthetics nightmare. Fortunately we probably won't be seeing Anya's demon side coming back any time soon, if Emma has anything to say about it. Emma is a particularly interesting actor, and I've come across information time and time again that surprised me. She's apparently very laid-back, and she has a degree in psychology! Hopefully she'll be staying with the show for a long time to come.
