Dee Savers/Converters, Hard to find, these are really cool. You slip them over the stirrup bars of your saddle and attach your hunt breastplate to them instead of the dees on your saddle, thus preventing them from pulling out and damaging your tack. They have an excellent side benefit: The 1" dees allow you to use a breastplate (like a western Y shape) that has wider straps than English saddle dees normally accomodate. So if you're like me, and love to use your horse's favorite cushy western breastplate when riding English, then dee savers are for you! Billet/Girth Extenders Girth too short? Mare in foal? Gelding went on a binge and can't get the weight off? Maybe you've got a barn full of small horses and then this one obnoxiously large one comes along and none of your girths fit him! Don't buy a whole new girth, just lengthen your existing one with these handy extenders. Made out of micro-weave safety nylon strap (the same stuff automotive seatbelts are made out of) they are doubled & stitched their entire length for a lifetime of use. Click for Pixs True Story: A friend of mine has a huge jumper gelding who blows out something terrible. Try as she might, she is not strong enough to get a 56" girth on her horse even on the lowest hole. If she goes to 58", the girth settles in after a few minutes of riding and she has to tighten it all the way to highest hole! After she really gets him working, the saddle starts to slip because the 58" girth is actually TOO BIG! I gave her a pair of my billet extenders, and VOILA problem solved. She uses the billet extenders to just help her get the 56" on him. They give her the leverage to stretch the elastic to that first hole on either side, then she can take them off. After a few minutes of riding, she tightens the girth to middle hole, right where it belongs. Another happy ending from Polomare's Workshop!

True Draft Horse or Draft Mule Sized Halter - HUGE!!! Black double-ply nylon construction. Hardware appears to be stainless steel and is 100% free from tarnish or defect. Nice roller buckle at crown, durable snap at throat. Heavy 2" x 2" halter squares on nose. The interior circumference of the nose is 32". When the crownpiece is adjusted to the middle hole it measures 47" from the bottom of the off side halter square, over the poll and back down to the bottom of the nearside halter square. It currently adjusts up to 50" or down to 44" and there is room to poke an additional 3 holes (1" apart) if you wish to accomodate a horse up to 53" Ask me, and I would be happy to customize (add additional holes to) this halter for you. Attention Thoroughbred, Quarter Horse or Arabian Horse Racing Fans!!! Own an authentic Thoroughbred Jockey's Racing or Excercise Saddle - only $120! Cool display piece, but still 100% useable as is. I have ridden in it, and I had a blast! Tree is sound and square, you can actually take the tree out of the leather pockets it sits in by removing two pommel screws at the head and visualize it for yourself. You can see that it is hand carved and made with great care and is perfectly symmetrical (you'd be surprised how many trees aren't). It is a "half-tree" as anyone familiar with jockey saddles will understand, the tree does not extend all the way through the gullet of the saddle, it only exists over the wither area, the rest of the construction of the saddle (seat/cantle) is soft and shaped with leather and wool stuffing. It has hinged stirrup bars, just like typical English saddles, which open and close just fine. It only has two billets on each side, which is correct for a racing saddle, unlike the usual 3 per side on regular English saddles. This saddle shows a fair degree of use - but has not been abused. It's clean & oiled. Thick billets are still sound & safe to use (with some very slight surface cracking), no rips, tears or problems anywhere on this saddle. 17.5" Seat, but remember this saddle is meant to be ridden in with super-short stirrups! COOL Purple Contest Set Just what you need to get started at the barrel shows, or for trail riding that high-headed horse. Soft, quality nylon web browband headstall, 8 foot rein, bosal-style noseband with tie down. The noseband & tie down were worn once, and then laundered to get the horsehair off, so it is just half a shade lighter in color than the headstall & reins (barely perceptible) Other than that the set is brand new, the buckles are still "fresh-from-the-tackshop" shiny. Crown & cheek piece assembled measure from 31" to 36" This is for a small horse or Arab or cob horse or a big-head pony. I got it because the shanks on my barrel hackamore were so tall, a regular horse bridle was too big for my mare even though she normally takes a horse-sized bridle, so it would also work for anyone out there with the same problem. Black Velvet Show Girth with White Stitching, 46" Neat, neat girth for the showring! I'm thinking Saddleseat/Saddlebred or Arabian Costume Class. Would also make a statement as a fancier-than-usual Dressage Girth! Might even be the crowning touch for a "Spanish" horse breed outfit (Andalusian, Peruvian/Paso Fino, etc) Chrome buckles are attached with heavy leather tabs. The entire body of the girth has a slight elasticity that equalizes pressure throughout the length of the girth and I'm sure the horse finds very comfortable! I would love to try it on my horse, but I won't use it because this girth is 100% BRAND NEW and I don't want to get it dirty, LOL! I rescued Lemony from a life of neglect at the bottom of a junk trunk in a Florida barn. She was grimey and miserable, and worst of all, she had suffered a complete tail loss. A warm soapy bath revealed skin that is nearly blemish-free, bright eyes and a movie-star mane! Her display-side symbols are "near-mint", her offside is only slightly rubbed. No ugly scars or marks anywhere on her. After an exhaustive tail-restoration, she emerged from the operating room with a magical tail that other ponies dream of!
Sadly, I can't keep her because I already have a childhood Lemondrop in my collection and she is getting painfully jealous of this new supermodel pony. Do you have a place of honor to display her? Very Rare Find: Antique Horse Book, Circa 1937 "Martingale" The Story Of A Foalish Virgin Written & Illustrated By Helen Kirby. Published By E.P. Dutton & Co, Inc, New York City, Copyright 1937. This is a FIRST EDITION!
What a wild, wacky and WEIRD book! This is the story of a young filly who comes of age. The book is written in prose and is illustrated throughout with horses wearing human clothing and participating in human activities. Young Martingale (the star of the book) is seen taking a bath (in a bathtub!), Swinging on a swingset, posing for a portrait, ballroom dancing, donning a wedding gown, watching over her new-born foal as he sleeps in a crib, and loungeing at the beach while her now two foals make sand castles, and even at one point going foxhunting while riding another horse! (I warned you it was weird!)
The following is a word-for-word quote of the author's foreword. An explanation of the book as she sees it:
"In these troubled times, when the standards of our fathers lie in the dust, when suspicion, cynicism and fear are in all that we hear or read, it is a satisfaction to me to offer to the public this story of a life of modest hopes, of circumstances bravely faced, of temptation overcome, of duties performed, and of reward achieved. Horse Trailer, BUMPER PULL ONLY $500 to $5000 I am looking for a very specific kind of horse trailer. Will consider stock, modified stock or enclosed but it must be long enough to fit 3 horses, but not necessarily a slant load. I have one horse that flatly refuses to slant load, so if it has slanted dividers, they must be removable or slideable, or in some way be able to be secured against the inside of the trailer leaving the interior wide open (and still be able to close the rear door so I can trailer that way!). If it exists, I would like a partitioned trailer that allows me to transport 2 horses straight load in the front (with a divider between them) and then has enough room at the back to transport a small pony perpendicular to the two straight loaded horses in the front (obviously the divider at the front would not reach all the way to the rear of the trailer). I'm very determined that this trailer be aluminum, but if the price is right and is other wise exactly what I want, may consider others. Will Pay a Premium For A Trailer With A Solid Aluminum (as oppossed to wood) Floor. Special Trailer Features/Condition/Needed Repairs are all negotiable, I don't care about that as long as I get the "floorplan" that I want.
