Three-time Emmy winner Jean Stapleton will make a guest appearance this Saturday, September 28 on the popular CBS children's series, "Beakman's World," playing the role of Beakman's zany, no-nonsense mother.
"On the show, I play Beakmom," Stapleton explains. "I have a wig like my son's, but mine is taller and bright red!"
In the upcoming episode, Beakmom proposes a sweet challenge to Lester the Rat, one of Beakman's sidekicks, that involves scooting a piece of jelly toast off of a counter and having it land "jelly side up" on the floor.
"It was hard work, but enjoyable. The cast and crew are a lovely group of people to work with, their imagination knows no bounds," says the theatre, television and film veteran. "I hope mothers don't go up the wall having to clean up the jelly."
The former "All In The Family" star was invited to make a guest appearance on the show by her daughter, Pamela Putch, a producer on the series.
"How could I refuse?" quips Stapleton. "It was a great opportunity to spend a day with my daughter and pick up some science education."
Stapleton will appear in a second episode as Beakmom later in the season. Additionally, she can be seen in an upcoming feature film that stars John Travolta, William Hurt and Andie McDowell.
